Remarks

College management needs to be more strict as there are few student unions which conduct few poltical rallies which can be reduced to provide more learning avenues.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is as prescribed by AICTE and exams are conducted and reviewed by the college itself as it's an autonomous college. It is quite fair and relevant as per college degree course. Since its an autonomous college so a lot of the projects and other self based tasks need to be done by one himself/herself hence it helps in improving practical knowledge immensely and not like private colleges where it is spoon fed. There are 2 industrial trainings which were really helpful to understand the real time knowledge. We as students have to find on our own the training partners but college also helps if students are unable to find. few industrial visits will be conducted by college.

Placement Experience

3

There are almost 25 companies which visit regularly for campus placements like Indian Oil, Bina oil refinery, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, and many other MNC'S and local companies. Special classes are organised keeping in view the placement season. Tentatively around 25% students are campus placed but the percentage is less because a lot of students prefer preparing for government jobs rather than placements.

College Events

3

There are many national level whitepaper events and technical fests organised by different departments and also annual fest, freshers and farewell parties apart from that picnics, and other socio-economic gatherings also take place. Many new events like hackathons, quizzes, debates and state level sports events are organised.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is the most attractive thing about this college as it is the most pocket friendly as compared to others since it's a government run institute. Fees is very affordable and transparent. Fees can be paid via check, DD, cash or online payment. Fee structure at our time was around 28000 Rs per year excluding hostel fees which was applicable for students availing hostel facility.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I had not applied for any scholarship/loan but the college provides scholarships and fees waiver to category students as per government provisions since it's a government institute. The average sum of scholarship for category students can be as high as full waiver of fees along with monthly stipend of 3 to 4 thousand rupees along with free books and stationery. For general category students having green card, fees is waived off completely.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is generally around 1:2 and there are lot of workshops, cultural societies or Student diversity and tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. Multiple competitions are organised throughout the year which includes sports competition, debate and drawing and technical events like hackathon and coding challenges.

Hostel Facilities

3

No, I haven't opted for hostel but hostel rooms are mostly like any other college hostel and are hygiene conscious and affordable. if you choose to stay outside in PG'S or hostels they are also not costly since Ujjain is a pocket friendly city and the average rental would be anywhere around 4500 -6000 monthly including food and stay.

Alumni/Alumna

College alumni group is there which is very active and they have website where alumni constantly posts regarding job opportunities/ internship opportunities. They are also helpful in terms of financial assistance to college whenever needed.

Admission

I gave AIEEE exam which used to be conducted in those years for entry to engineering colleges across India. I gave the exam in 2005 around April and got admitted in college from September 2005 onwards. I opted for B. E in electrical engineering because electrical is one of the core branches and its easy to get job. I chose this college because first it has a good reputation as it is a government engineering college and second it was becoming autonomous at that time so it was going to become a much more prestigious institution.

Faculty

3

Faculties are top notch because they are all screened by rigorous exams to filter out the best professors since its a government institute. They are all post graduate faculties and most of them also have PhD degrees making them masters in their specialized trades. Lectures taken are mostly very informative and educative but don't rely completely on lectures for complete syllabus which is also a good sign because you learn on your own also a lot of things.

Course Curriculum Overview:

To be exact, the curriculum has to be improvised and structured properly for real-world needs. The structure is outdated, and the pattern is too. The industry-based learning is not being promoted at all, as per my observation. The timing for exams is not frequent, but the paper structure is the same as the old so very outdated for a growing economy like ours.
