Student's Review On St. Xavier's College - [SXC], Ranchi

I opted for B.Com Accounts Honors. We kind of covered all the necessary subjects and additional subjects too. The curriculum was not too hectic and based on the modern commerce practices and laws for commercialization. Although we did have a few industrial visits and project works and assignments, we didn't have to give any presentations. There were frequent seminars and meet and greets. The faculty is top-notch.

The college is visited by few companies for campus selection. The college does not play much part in campus selection. Mainly students are recruited after completion of course and passing out The top hiring companies are Infosys, Wipro, Godrej co. Ltd. There are also other banks and animation media companies as well.

I am currently in my last semester of my graduation. To be honest, my college life was a blast. There is always some kind of event happening in the college. Every year the college conducts a Xavier fest, a sports meet, cricket, soccer,hockey, volleyball, basketball tournaments. The college also takes part in blood donation campaigns, food and necessity drives, awareness programs, seminars, cultural fest and cultural events through AICUF, cultural rallies etc. Almost every person gets to participate in an abundance of activities around these events.

The college has a library open throughout the college running period, a multi-purpose gym, a main field used for cricket, soccer, hockey, and occasional volleyball court. The college also additionally has another volleyball court, 2 basketball courts. They also have a chemistry, biology, physics labs, 2 computer labs, and a animation lab.The college has a faculty only wifi availability.

The hostel is strictly for boys only. Each room is for 4 student residents. So every room comprises 4 beds,4 chairs and 4 tables. We have common toilets and bathrooms. The hostel also has a common mess room. The annual hostel fee is only 10k, excluding the mess charges. The college has a total of 3 hostel block, each accommodating 200 students each. It's easier for ST and SC students to avail hostel rooms, required you come from a far place.
