Remarks

positive: -college reading hall is very good and stays open till 12 pm everyday -canteens provide good and tastefull food -college placements were really good as many of the non deserving student also got placed negative: -small playground for students -no extracurricular activities -no course completion by faculties, students had to study all by themselves -college location at outskirts of the city -no serious growth for students

Course Curriculum Overview

4

regarding the curriculum, the couse offered by savitribai phule pune University (SPPU) is quite advanced compared to other universities, they have advanced subjects to elect such as machine learning, cloud computing, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, etc. they have also introduced python programming at beginning of the course, the assignments are pretty good and needs real work to solve them, although the facilities are not much of a help

Placement Experience

4

the internships in 3rd year of our course was mandatory in the sense of faculty but their was no help awarded by them, they also stated the internship time to be completed in a month only, which is not possible as the companies offering the internships specified the time to be 3 to 6 months, even though students got them, the department head didn't approved them because of time consent, student had to do internships on their own, part time or work from home, so the internships were not much of help here, regarding the final placements, the college dean and chairman had contacts with big MNCs which helped the students land a job without any preparation whatsoever, the only criteria to enroll in placement was to have overall SGPA above 6.5 or 60%, this was college placement entry criteria, the companies had their own criteria, most of the jobs offered were by service based companies, such as infosis, cognizant, accenture, atos syntel, bitwise, eq technologies, musigma etc although 90%of the students got placed.

College Events

3.5

there was a annual event called sinhgad karandak, which happened in the main campus which was 7 kms away from our campus, karandak was celebrated for 7 days with all the competitions and no exhibitions and a DJ night on last day of the event, apart from that our campus had a seperate event fest called sinhgad techtonic which covered most of the technical aspects of the events, also the workshops on advanced and new technologies were introduced, the college also has a stage play (theatre) team which participated in city events, we also have a robotics club, forza automation club which made cars and perform in international events, rotaract club which had strong influence on pune society

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fee structure is different for all students, based on their birth and religion some students could afford it and others took educational loans, the government provided scholarships and freeships to student admitted in college through valid means, which were quite helpful as they lowered the burden of the students

Fees and Financial Aid

government offered scholarships and freeships to students with certain categories only which have availed their admission through valid means, the scholarship website was mahadbt.com many documents had to be verified and submitted priorly then they can apply for scholarship, the money was directly received by the college in freeships and in scholarship the money was received by students only. general category students didnt have any scheme which were then had to approach the banks for educational loan

Campus Life

4

extra curricular activities were nothing but the event occured annually and nothing else, sports was performed in negligible amount as campus does not hold a large enough playground for the students, there were no dorm parties allowed, no fresher parties, no farewell parties, no sexual orientation, ni social cause events ever occured, the principal's moto was to keep it simple as possible

Hostel Facilities

3.5

hostels were average, rooms were spacious with 4 sharing beds available with attached bathroom with 24*7 hot, cold and drinking water, but the seats were very less which could not offere all the students, they also constructed another hostel which was 5kms away from our campus with no transportation facilities, the mess food offered by them compulsorily included in hostel fee, was not at all good.

Alumni/Alumna

interactions with seniors was only possible during college events when they needed help with the event preparations, other than that they were only found at exam times once they graduated there was no alumni network mantained by college, which could be of any help, there was no interaction with them on college ground but only in hostel sometimes

Admission

Through the university's CAP rounds. You must fill in those forms with list of colleges you want to apply and based on your scores you will be assigned a college, through which I got this college for my BE

Faculty

3.5

the senior faculties are very respected and have high knowledge in their domains, they are humble and teaches good enough to understand. most of the time many of the faculty members have egoistic nature and tend to know everything even though they don't which affects a student's life, as a student expect them to understand him and his issues regarding the subject, this problem is most of the colleges

Honestly the placement is good in college but student's are not able to get that placement because they don't work on their skills . Then how could college place them although College does their best in placement. Almost 80% students get placement in our college .the highest package last year was 12.5 lakhs per annum. The average Package is almost about 3 lakhs per annum.

Placement Experience:

The college has a dedicated Training and Placement(T&P) cell and has regular recruitment drives that work to place students in companies where they will be values highly. Each year, 600-700 students are placed from all the branches. More than 300+ companies visit but the ones that hire are limited such as TCS, Capgemini, Infosys, Tech Mahindra which generally are mass recruiters that look for employees that will work for 3LPA or 4.5LPA. The highest packages go to about 30 to 40 LPA domestic and 61 LPA foreign but it is very rare to get a placement like this and requries considerable effort on the side of the student as well. Average package is 7 LPA for CS/IT branch; 5 LPA for electronics and telecommunications branch; 4 LPA for mechanical. My plan after getting the degree is working for 1-2 years while simultaneously pursuing masters.
