College ambiance is excellent and the management has a lot to change because they are not giving studenta the freedom to enjoy their college life as they are going to chamge the college life into a locked jail house without any freedom
Course Curriculum Overview
I am studying Information Technology. The course structure is good. This college is an autonomous college, so they frame curriculum only what is needed. The labs need some improvement in infrastructure. Three internals are conducted in each semester. If you fail in internals you need to attend the remedial classes.
Placement Experience
In my computer stream certain companies such as WIPRO has taken certain candidates from our colleges to work under them. They also train the new candidates to make them work efficient and useful to the company. Internship is not available but scholarship is available
College Events
The college conducts DhrUVA which used to be the grand cultural conducted in the college but now it is not as grand as it used to be. This year it is held only for 1 day. Another event called KALAM which is also conducted in the college. Many contests are conducted and the winners are given prizes in KALAM.
Fee Structure And Facilities
College is divided into 2 Self finance which is my department which is expensive than the other department which comes under the government which is cheap but very hard to get admission under the government quota
Fees and Financial Aid
POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP is one of the scholarship given by the government to the students studying under this college where the student has an annual income under 2 lakh so that they could study in the college without any difficulties
Campus Life
Sports are very good with compared to other colleges in kollam because the college sports day is conducted by a student head of the college therfore making the programme interesting and therefore making it approachable for the students with a student-student approach
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are good and there is an accommodation facility for all the students. New hostels like Lakshmi bai hostel is under construction to meet the needs. There is no requirement for pg. One room is shared by 3 students. A bed and a table is provided. Every floor is provided with a large common Washroom that has four bathrooms and 4 toilets. There is a common room or a TV room. WiFi has been provided. The room also has cupboards.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are friendly to us now but before this year they acted very angrily towards us and started to give us jobs and assignments to complete with a less deadline but after certian arguments with them we have attained the freedom to do what we can
Admission
I got admission in this college through TNEA counselling. It is a chain process. If you pass in 12th std with minimum pass marks, you need to apply for the counselling in online. Then you need to fill the choicelist. There will be 3 to 4 rounds of counselling. After the counselling is over you will come to know which college you are going to join.
Faculty
College faculty is good but my opinion is that the teachers are not very good at their jobs. They are not taking the responsibilities to teach the students with the attention the students need. the sttudents are enjoying the time during the course because the ambiance of the college is awsome. This ambiance cannot be replaced with any other colleges in kollam
