Remarks

Although teachers are great infra structure is horrible and the colleges active efforts to make the students life easier are lacking which leaves an overall bad impression.

Entrance Preview

MHT-CET. Score 171. My rank was 1080 in the state. Kj somaiya was the only college I was eligible for in Mumbai. I was getting into Manipal but i preferred staying in Bombay which is my home town. Hence I opted for kjsmc.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The first year is effectively only eight months which isn't even slightly close to what is required to fully understand the subjects. Some subjects like forensic medicine were made too detailed. We are made to learn too many unnecessary details that will never benefit us as doctors.

Internships Opportunities

There is no stipend paid to our interns. I will be an intern in the year 2017 so I cannot comment further on this topic. But i have seen internship being quite busy and I don't think the interns are paid proportionately.

Placement Experience

3.5

Since it is a medical college the matter of placements does not arise. We are to give another entrance exam at the end of our course to get us into a pg course.

College Events

1.5

Our college is very small. Cultural events are usually intra college. The college does put in future effort however we are made to pay to organise festivals like ganpati pooja which we usually do not even attend.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is roughly 8lakh it is exorbitant. The fee is not reflected in the infrastructure. Our bathrooms are horrible. Over the past decade no action has been taken to use that fee to improve the students experience in the college. While the new part of the building is modern clean and fancy, the college building is old dirty and substandard.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there is a scholarship by Birla for the top few of each batch which covers around 25% of the fee.

Campus Life

1

College festival is the only time where the cultural side us active. Other than that it is too hectic to have an extra curricular life. No one really has the time to pursue time consuming hobbies.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Canteen is common to students and patients. Half of the classroom fans don't work. Other than that the windows don't even open. The bathrooms are filthy. Cobwebs. Taps are non functional.

Alumni/Alumna

There are no attempts to strengthen bonds with seniors. The college attitude is disconnected. Inter personal relationships are few and students maintain a distance.

Exam Structure

Exams are extremely stressful. They are difficult and the subjects are very vast. Our day is very hectic and we have very little time to ourselves.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty is the best thing about the college. All teachers are qualified. Every teacher has been warm and understanding. Regular reviews are taken so they can improve their methods.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I genuinely choosed this course to earn money. Even this course offers respect in society. And prepares well for the real world applications. In my college they use projector for teaching and not digital board. Exams conducted are very easy and not so strict.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is highly planned and very vast. Regular revision is necessary to caver all subjects. All subjects are taught with high practical basis hence ensuring exposure and preparing for real life exposure. Teaching could be more consise and logic based. Main exams are every 2 to 3 months with difficulty slightly higher in term 2 than term 1.
