Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very well defined and is aptly in line with the requirements of a bachelor's level program in Botany. The orientation of the course is such that exams are conducted in a semester wise manner. In a single year of study one has to appear in 2 semester examinations. Before the end semester examination evaluations are done through oo assignments and short tests. Practical examinations are also held as a part of the end semester examination.
Placement Experience
There is nothing much in terms of placement for a distance learning student and many times even for a regular course student. The University organises job fairs however mostly companies offer sales or telecalling profile which hardly fits with the background in which we did our graduation or post-graduation. In terms of internship as well one has to manage things on his own. The best one can do is to search for internship and job on his own.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees quite manageable as compared to fees charged for the course in regular mode by the private colleges. For a 3 year program you have to pay around rupees 50, 000. At the time of admission I paid around 15, 000 rupees which included the cost for study material.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Rajasthan state government offer scholarship to meritorious students who are domicile of the state. Further scholarships are offered to students who are from reserved categories or are from educationally backward classes of the society. Some of my friends also availed the benefit of scholarship offered by the central government. Educational loans also offered by private and public sector banks.
Campus Life
As a distance learning student I am not much aware about what's the extra curricular atmosphere of the university. However I have heard from some of my friends who are full time regular student that the University has cultural, sports, athletics, drama, etc clubs. Further events like Independence Day, Republic Day etc are celebrated. Infrastructure wise I can say that the regional centre where I go have sufficient and sound infrastructure both in terms of classroom as well labs.
Admission
I made the application for admission online on the official website of the University. I filled the detailed application form and uploaded all the necessary documents. After which I got a mail from the University confirming my admission. I opted for distance learning program in botany because I was dropping an year and preparing for the NEET examination so so I didn't wanted to have a gap in my academics.
Faculty
For distance learning student there is nothing much of an interaction with the teachers. Since I was preparing for my NEET examination this was even rare for me as I hardly used to visit the regional centre of study. However I got the chance to interact with the teachers and I went for the practical examinations. Through that experience I can say that they they are quite experienced and have a good knowledge of their subject.
