Remya Sreedevi's Review On Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College, Thrissur

College is located in very good environment and has good infrastructure. College has museum, herbal garden with 1000 plants of nearly 200 different species. College has good facilities and education. College library has good number of books and various journals.

Our course curriculum is divided into 3 years. The first- two years are in general and the third year is focused on main course kayachikitsa. We have regular practical classes in which we implement the theory part in practice. Our theory and practical classes are good.

Job placement in our college are on an average. In our department most of the students get placed in our college hospital. We practice in our college hospital from time to time, but no specific internship is given.

Fee for our course is feasible. The fee of our course is regulated by government and we have a fee of nearly 18000-20000 per year. The fee of our MD course is minimal and is feasible to all students. Fee for other facilities and Examination are different.

There are various scholarship provided by state government and central government, and also by educational institution. There are various scholarship according to merit, sc/st caste and for poor people also. Loans are not provided by our college but facilities are provided by various banks.

There are many extra curricular activities in which we participate, they are hosted by our college and they make sure we participate in these. There are various seminars, workshops and lectures are held from time to time. Labs of our college is good and are equipped with various modern equipments.

Our college has alumni association but regular events or their guidance are less. But during our internship and hospital hours we meet them in hospital and get their help. Seniors are helpful and they help at different times when we need them.

I am studying MD Ayurveda in this college. I wrote Common entrance examination conducted by government of Kerala. After exam a merit list was prepared and I got this college. A candidate must have studied or should hold BAMS degree to apply for this exam and course.

In our MD Ayurveda the faculty of my department is good, they are well qualified and have many years of experience in this field. They are distinguished teachers from colleges, and now are part of our college.
