Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery- BAMS

This college has it’s own 50 bed fully equipped hospital and it’s objective is to promote the growth of ayurveda making it a great learning opportunity for the students. It comes in overall package of excellent curriculum, qualified teachers, work exposure through internship, excellent infrastructure affordable fees, hostel facilities too there’s nothing more a student can expect from an institution.

In this 5 year course there would be 1 year for rotational internship- the last one. Students are not entitled to any stipend. But this proves to be an excellent practical learning opportunity. After completion of BAMs, one can become a doctor and open his/her own clinic, become a teacher, drug manufacturer, health supervisor, therapist, clinical research associate, the opportunities are many in health care and life science industry.

The college also has funded NSS unit. It has organises seminars and workshops in subjects every month. Special and important days like world yoga day, international women’s day are also celebrated. This focuses on the overall development and participation of students.

The present annual fees for BAMS for domestic students is Rs.199415 and Rs.300000 for NRI students. Other than that there is an additional fees in lieu of facilities like admission fees, establishment fees etc (complete break up is given in http://www.vishnuayurvedacollege.in/Prospectus.pdf ) of Rs.79050 for 1st year and Rs.56,150 for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th years details of which are given in Other than this no additional fees shall be collected.

The students are mostly girls in the college and have many facilities. The college has provides amenities like ATM, AV lab, wifi, conference hall and play ground where students practice outdoor games and special facilities like chess, table tennis and caroms for indoor games.

Both ladies and boys hostel facilities are available which can accommodate upto 300 ladies and 60 boys, fees of which is Rs.1250 per month/ Rs.15000 for 1 year in addition to the hostel deposit of Rs.5000 which is to be paid in advance. Canteen facilities are also available for the staff and students

Vishnu Ayurveda College is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, which makes it one of the most prestigious colleges for learning ayurveda. I always had this inclination to serve people and with India’s age old science of healing people ayurveda was the calling for me. I choose to do BAMS- bachelors of ayurvedic medicine and surgery, which is a 5 year full time course and has 60 seats. Out of which 15% from all India, 70% from state merit and 15% from NRI shall be filled. The faculties are in different departments like Department of Sanskrit, Samhitha and Siddantha, Dept of Rachana Sareeram, Dept of Kriya Sareeram, Dept of Dravyaguna Vijnanam, Dept of Rasasastra and Bhaishajyakalpana, Dept of Roganidan, Dept of Swasthavrita and many others which has a faculty base of multiple teachers who are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields.
