Remarks
The principal is very strict. He strongly promotes Christ college and sends students for various inter college meets, however this was only for streams like commerce and business administration. The batch I studied in, arts, were not encouraged for such meets and competition that boosts confidence in students and helps them prepare for corporate world. The students of arts stream also did not receive any campus placement training or offer which makes it difficult for them to face The world outside.
Entrance Preview
I took no exams to be a part of t Christ college 2006 batch. We just had to fill in forms and pay the fees to get admissions.
Course Curriculum Overview
Very good. The selection of textbooks as well as the teaching pattern was very nice. The teachers carefully selected text books that were more informative and gave a good understanding to the students regarding the subject regardless of which board they have passed their schooling from.
Internships Opportunities
I do not teach at the college. The Teachers must be getting a minimum of 25000/- per month. But I was only a student there. I do not have any information regarding the current internship and stipend offers at Christ.
Placement Experience
There were no campus placement and job opportunities for the BA batch. They only had final exams. No other companies approached to recruit us.
College Events
The college celebrated all festivals and days including hindu festivals even when it is a christian college. Days like rose day and cultural day and farewell functions were all celebrated with a lot of joy and galore.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I would say not very expensive but since there was no extra focus on the students like grooming sessions or campus placement I would feel the same fee structure should include a few training sessions like other colleges provide to this stream of students.
Fees and Financial Aid
No. I do not know of any scholarships offered by our college to the students of the arts stream. They had to pay the fees like everyone else in the class. No special loan was given to any student from our batch.
Campus Life
Debate competition at our college was very good. It was encouraged and appreciated as well. The college also had a language lab that was used by students for phonetics classes once or twice a month. The lab was well equipped and the teacher taught us well.
Hostel Facilities
I was not a part of the college hostel but students living in the girls hostel only cribbed about how bad it was but since they had paid the entire year's fees they could not do much. Also the hostel and the college campus shares the same wall so it was a preferred more but the food quality and the behavior OF rector and nuns there was badly criticized and hated.
Alumni/Alumna
I am not a part of the alumni network. They only stay in touch with a few students and no emails are send regarding alumni meet to everyone. Only a chosen few are a part of the team and network.
Exam Structure
Every 6 months there was an internal exam. And at the end of the year there was a university exam. In the third year the college also arranged a project and viva for the students which counted as part of ten syllabus and the project grades were included in the final exam results.
Faculty
The faculty were well versed with the subject. They actually did a lot of homework themselves before coming to the class. The teachers at Christ are all educated and they are encouraged to study further while they are teaching at the department. All teachers in my batch were co operative and helped the students understand and learn the subject well.
