Shree Devi College Mangalore, BSc Food Technology

Remarks

Good college with years of experience but Food Technology has just begun here. Good location just below the airport. Good location with peaceful and serene atmosphere with minimal pollution. Very nature-friendly area.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure is not up to the mark. Exams and labs are chills we have a very free and fun atmosphere here at Shreedevi our HOD is so chill. The course has just started in our college we had one internal exam and one internal practical exam to help us be familiar with the procedures and one-semester exam in the first semester and two internal exams and one-semester exam in the second semester.

Placement Experience

3

Our college has just begun the course here. Our other courses have promising placements for good students. Management department had cent percent placement last year We have companies visiting here for placements every year.

College Events

2

We have a cultural fest called Sambhram organized annually with intercollegiate programs DJ nights and everything. Food Tech related fests have not yet been conducted. We are planning for an event when all three-year students are full now that we first years cannot alone hold one.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. University registration fees in the beginning: 10250. Yearly fees: 75000 to be paid in the month of June each year Each semester exam costs 2480 of examination fees each semester. If any revaluation is required 1100 is to be paid for each paper with 120 rs application form.

Fees and Financial Aid

Some agents provide scholarships. Karnataka local students have a number of scholarships here. Outside Karnataka, students will have to make fake local IDs with fake local addresses to avail scholarships.

Campus Life

4

We are sent for fests and workshops inter college. We have a sports day here where students of our trust come together and participate in different sports. We have human rights classes. Teachers take good moral classes.

Hostel Facilities

4

We have state-of-the-art hostel facilities here. In each room, there are 3 people. Good food and good wardens Boys are to stay in the hostel for 2 years compulsorily and girls during the whole tenure of the course. Cloth washing should be done by ourselves. Cleaning service every two days PG's are much more cost-effective than hostels, there is a washing machine, TV's, Wifi, food for 5000 monthly and during leave fees do not have to be paid.

Alumni/Alumna

We have just begun the course here we have no seniors. In the hostel and elsewhere we have pharmacy seniors from the same campus who are helpful and kind. This is a ragging-free campus and we have no ragging here.

Admission

I contacted the College office via an agent. I was called to the college office on a specific date. I went and met the chairman he checked my results and they ensured my admission. The agent took me to a college campus and Hostel campus and showed me everything and informed me everything and had a formal meeting with the principal. They left me at the railway station to go back home.

Faculty

3

Our college has a very good faculty but they have no experience they are freshers. They work so hard to keep things together and help us get going as the course is new to the college and there is no previous experience for anyone there except the HOD.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
