Remarks

According to the fees charged by the college and the study provided, placement drive, infrastructure, I would advise to study in a college in this fees itself where good infrastructure, good placement, state of the art facilities, is available. Not just go blindly after the government college.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Worst course curriculum for Research purpose Even for the preparation for any government exam purpose the course structure is inappropriate. Talking about the labs, we were allowed to perform the experiment with ourselves. So there was excitement in the labs to perform the experiment. Before the semester exam there were 2 MSTs alsob known as Miss semester Test. The exams were also good as the exam paper was according to the syllabus.

Placement Experience

1.5

For my branch no core company visited for the placement drive Seniors also told that no core company has visited previously also. Although companies of mechanical like Rockman Industries, Sonalika tractors, Bajaj motots came for the placement drive. Companies of Computer Science and Electronics like Wipro, VVDN technologies, Pompiee technologies,Emicon visited for the placement drive. The stipend that was offered by around 1. 8 lacs to 2. 2 lacs in hand.

College Events

1.5

ISTE or Indian Society For Technical Education was the technical event held in the college once in a year. Everyone participated and the management was also great because this is only technical event organized by the college. SECA or Society For Extra Curricular Activities to give abundant opportunities for innovation, explore their creativity, also develop their interpersonal skills was also organized once in a year. Jashan is cultural festival organized by college once in year. This event was most exciting because different performance like dancing, singing, mumicry, and popular singers like diljeet, gippy grewal also gave their performance during jashan.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is too expensive. As the college is Punjab state government college but the fees is more than that of a private college. I had to pay almost 50,000 per semester so for 8 semester I had to pay 4 lacs total. It's only college fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

No any Scholarship was available for general category student. SC/ST category could avail this facility and their fees was reduced around 70% of the general category fees. But now they are providing scholarship under Punjab government Education Scheme. But at that time there was nothing like these. No any loans availability facility is available.

Campus Life

1.5

There was an annual sports athletic meet every year in which Running (200m, 400m, 1600m), Cricket, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Hockey every outdoor and indoor games was organized by the college level. The gender ratios of male was 70% and of female was 30%. No student/dorm parties was organized. Workshops was organized by the college but only 1/2 times in duration of 4 year. The workshop were also for 3-4 days. There was also an anti ragging committee in college. So no ragging. No discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, sex, religion or sexual orientation was practised there. And if someone did this then very strict rules was there for them. Politics was very active in the college premises RSS and ABVP was active in the college.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel infrastructure was good The rooms were well designed, maintained, well. The hostel rooms were allotted in sharing. In first year I had to live with 2 other student. There are plenty of seats available so no need to look for PGs. There is a big reading room for study in hostel A big T. V room, Table tennis room is also there In the middle of hostel 2 badminton court is there, Wi-fi is also there but the speed is average like 100-150 Kbps/sec. Overall hostel was quite good.

Alumni/Alumna

College Seniors were very helpful to us. Any problem or confusion whether study or other things they were always available A good bonding was there between our seniors They adviced us what to do and not to do And what will be beneficial for us in study As they have already so much of experience they guided us to how to prepare for future competitive exams rather than focusing on semester marks. It helped us a lot and enriched with lot of experience for future preparation.

Admission

I got admission on the basis of jee mains rank and number but now a days open admission process is going on. I had already made my mind to opt for electrical engineering because I was interested in this. For admission you have to visit the college and pay the fees and your admission will be done. You don't need to visit any counselor for this.

Faculty

1.5

Not satisfied with the faculty of the college. They were well educated as everyone was post graduated, even 2/3 we're researchers. But no faculty was interested to teach except 1/2. No one was interested in students future. They only knew to finish the syllabus in time.

Mid cap to large cap, every company that can afford our students services are invited to our university for hiring students. Thus far nearly 500 organizations have been invited to our university and a good bit of placements percentage is also there. No students of our university recruited have come under fire and therefore the companies which have laid faith in LPU students have kept hiring year after year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I went for CSe bcz it has best career scope. The curriculum is comprehensive but a bit heavy. It touches almost all topics but didn't go deep into latest tech like AI or Cloud computing, which was a drawback. Improvements? Definitely the teaching style. Some profs are good but many rush through the syllabus to finish it. They should include more project based learning instead of just theory exams. Exams are manageable. We have typical sem system. Timing is predictable but sometimes the schedule is very tight with no gaps between papers. Difficulty wise its okay, most students study a week before exams and manage to clear them.

Around 600 recruiters so far has hired students from LPU. Not just domestic but even international names have hired students from LPU. So, I don't think one even has to look beyond LPU for that matter. I am happy that students from here have got the opportunity to work in their dream companies and soon I will be giving interviews as I am also in my final year now.

My overall campus life at Lovely Professional University (LPU) has been vibrant and engaging. Events like One India (January) and YouthVibe (February) add strong cultural and social exposure, while technical fests run through the academic year. The central library offers extensive books, journals, and digital resources. Smart classrooms with projectors and Wi-Fi support learning. Sports facilities, clubs, and student societies keep campus life active, inclusive, and skill-oriented.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
