Nirmala college , Muvattupuzha is a well disciplined college. Academics is given more preference in the college. Student politics is not much promoted in the college. The faculty and other staffs are working their best for maximum achievement of the college.

I am studying B.com finance and taxation. It is a 3 year degree course comprising of 6 semesters. Each year is divided into two semesters. In first year financial accounting is the main subject. In second year it is corporate accounting and in third its cost accounting. Apart from this complementary courses like banking and insurance, principles of business decisions, GST, Income tax etc are also been included in the syllabus. In my opinion their is a lot of stuffs to be learned within these 3 years. University exams are conducted in each semesters. And there is 2 internal exams held in each semester by college authority.

The career guidance and placement cell helps students to prepare for suitable careers. The cell conducts workshops and programmes on career orientation, higher study options, self employment, entrepreneurship management etc. Internship programs are also conducted by several departments. Fee concessions and stipends are also given to students who are economically and socially backward.

A wide variety of programmes are celebrated in each year. The programmes begins with onam celebration before the onam vacations. Later arts festival, sports, literature fests, food fest, ethnic day, christmas celebrations, merit day ,fest conducted by various departments such as science fest, commerce fest, tech fest etc.

The students who got admission in the basis of merit has to pay only the government fees and only a minimal amount is received from each student as college fees and internal assessment fees. The students who got admission in self financing courses is also not much expensive.

Golden jubilee Gold medal instituted in the Golden jubilee year of the college for the best student. Best outgoing student award in terms of both academics and non-academic merits. Endowment award instituted by college for best outgoing student of each self financing programmes in the college.

Extra curricular activities like catholic students movement, quiz club, Nature club, Debating club, Career guidance and placement cell, Music club, oratory club, Blood donation club, varnasala, students counselling cell, women's cell, anti narcotic cell, folklore club, tourism club, entrepreneurship development club, film and dramatic club are held in the college. Annual sports meets are conducted. College Football team has also received awards in national level. Well equipped labs are also a highlight of the college.

The college alumni association aims at promoting lasting relationship between students and their Alma mater. It organizes get-together, seminars etc. The association has overseas chapters in Bahrain, Germany, and Chicago. The alumni association also contributes for the charity purpose of the college.

Merit based admission( based on 12th class) through single window admission process. Students who have got highest mark on their secondary examination are selected. After passing the secondary examination students are required to apply online on MG university official website with their details of mark and courses and colleges which they prefer. And finally university itself selects the students based on their marks obtained.

The faculty of the college is well educated and experienced. Most of the teachers university rank holders and phd holders. An internal quality assurance cell is working for the betterment and assessment of the faculty and the facilities in the college.
