Remarks

Postive remarks are the development in infrastructure, great faculty , good patient input in hospital andgood exposure Negative remarks would be We arent allowed personal vehicles which is huge disadvantage as it is very tiring and time consuming for us to get even the smallest of things done outside of campus. Also considering the weather in mangalore which get really hot sometimes. Everyday we have to walk atleast 1 km to the hospital everyday which is quite tiring. Secondly the high amount of fines charged as punishments even for the smallest matters. Thirdly our college does not have a good compound closure. And doesnt have the best faculties for students to take a break from studies

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is really primitive in my opinion. Modern edcuation requires more than just textbook studying and teaching. There should be more of interactive teaching and learning, skills development especially considering these students to be future doctors who should be able to make good decisions and be able to talk and take care of people. The curriculum as of now is very dry difficult and stressful. The curriculum should include certain compuslory activities and batch trips for better mental wellbeing of the students as the course is very stressful and we are no robots.

Placement Experience

3.5

Like every medical college there are no placements as such. We have to write NEET PG and get seats through our merit or apply to other hospitals ourselves. But our college is recognised and respected all around so it is easier for us to apply for jobs later on. We do have internship which is compulsory to complete the course which is for a duration of one year. It is really the most important part of the course as you understand everything you learned for four years apply it practically during this time. It really makes you grow as a doctor and emhances oneselfs skills. But the stipend is tooo low for the amount of hardwork put in. The stipend is really very less and negligible which is a really big disadvantage

College Events

2

We have an annual college day and freshers day which happens on a single day. Where we have the students council handover ceremony and welcoming of the freshers. This is the omly event initiated by college along with annual sports day probably. Other events are organised by students which include annual cuturals , diwali and holi , onam , literaly club events and music club events

Fee Structure And Facilities

Like every deemed to be medical colleges it is expensive. But our college as such inst that expensive too. The fees exponentially increase every year which is really bad. The quality of education we get it good but considering all aspects the fees are a little on the latter side.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college does give scholarship to selected research projects but excludingthat im not aware of any Scholarships per se. There is no loan facility in our college. This is according what i know of.

Campus Life

3.5

Our labs are well equipped and good. We dont have a band room or recreation room in college which is bad. Our sports football court is good and we have a basketball and a volleyball court too. We are lacking a badminton court and a swimming pool.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel infrastructure is really good but the mess food inst that great. We arent allowed personal vehicles which is huge disadvantage as it is very tiring and time consuming for us to get even the smallest of things done outside of campus. Also considering the weather in mangalore which get really hot sometimes. Everyday we have to walk atleast 1 km to the hospital everyday which is quite tiring.

Alumni/Alumna

We dont have a network as such. But we have an alumini. Seniors are a lot of help in college. Especially considering the courses load , getting seniors advices are really essential. Every college must encourage seniors and juniors interactions from first year itself as it really makes a difference for the students.

Admission

After being eligible under all india seats after the NEET entrance exam we were asked to come to college for counselling and then based on ranks and previous marks admissions are given. This is what happens in most medical colleges

Faculty

5

The faculty in my college is excellent in my opinion. They are very helpful , always available even though they are really busy with their patients , they have vast knowledge and really good experience. And are absolutely fit and apt for teaching us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
