LIFE AT GCAD

Overall, GCAD is one of the best colleges for architecture. Although, there is a lot of strictness and rules and regulations in the college so only if you can abide to the strictness and rules, only then take admission.

The course curriculum and exam structure is well designed in GCAD. Keeping in mind all that it is an architecture school, the curriculum and syllabus is designed accordingly. Obviously, there is a lot of burden on students of submissions, but the day you chose architecture, you should be well aware of that. The college is very strict about academics and curriculum.

The placement obviously depends upon your marks and performance in the college. The placement depends upon where a student did his or her internship.

There are not too many events celebrated in the college. The college's annual event "Archventure" is celebrated every year in which many colleges like DCRUST participate. The event includes a lot of activities which are fun and refreshing. There are other events also celebrated within the college .

The fee structure in the college is very simple. Apart from the college fees, there are a lot of expenses on stationary . 2 lakh per year is the fee for architecture in gateway. Apart from it, you have to get your laptops for work in softwares like AutoCAD , Sketchup, 3D max etc.

There are scholarships provided only if you top the semester or only if you are excellent and constant in your performance, both academically and extra curriculum activities. Although, i didnt availed for any of these.

Campus life in gateway is not very social as one tends to bound to be in that college only. You cannot always get up and go out anywhere anytime, the rules are very strict here. There are a lot of extracurricular activities in gateway. Every Wednesday there are extra mural activities conducted in GCAD which are both fun and learning.

Hostel facility in GCAD is very good. Hostel here is compulsory for all the architecture students. The rooms provided are clean and the hostel has microwave and electric kettle at every floor. It is fully air conditioned with good light and ventilation. The mess food is healthy and prepared in hygenic conditions.

The seniors in gateway are very helpful and friendly. There is a lot of interaction with the seniors because of work and submissions and they are equally supportive of that. Because hostel is compulsory for architecture students, the interaction with the seniors obviously is more. The seniors and alumni network is quiet very good in GCAD.

To get admission in the college first you have to fill online form with all your details. You will be called in the college . Get all your originals like your aadhar card. Also carry your marks sheet of class tenth and twelth with the minimum criteria of marks as mentioned . Carry your NATA scorecard with your passport size photographs. Once these procedures are done , there will be a physical councelling. The dates will be provided as per the entrance examination schedule.

The faculty of the college is okay. Some teachers are very good and have a very good hold and command of the subject with experience, but there are also a few teachers which do not have experience, so they are not very good. Overall, there are a few teachers who don't hold experience, rest are good.
