Remarks
The college is good on the basis of academics and faculty. However there are very strict rules and often an innocent student falls victim to punishment and fines.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum and exam structure is appreciable. Regular surprise tests and class tests are carried to test the understanding of the students. University exams are conducted at the end of each semester. Assessment is also done on daily assignments to encourage studying in daily routine.
Placement Experience
I have not availed any internship till now as I am in 1st year right now. However I have heard positive reviews from seniors.
College Events
The events celebrated in the college are very few. The only big event is the ARCHVENTURE. while there are several small events like GANESH POOJA, LOHRI CELEBRATION, BONFIRE NIGHT, ETHNIC EVENING (on the occasion of DIWALI),etc. These events are well-conducted and rejuvenating.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college fees for B.Arch students per semester is Rs. 50,000- educational fee and Rs. 50,000- hostel and mess charges (and opting for hostel facility is compulsory). That is the total course charge (for 5 years) is- 10 lakhs. Apart from that, Rs- 2000-3000 (average) are spent on the stationary.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I didn't opt for any scholarship or education loan. I got admission on the basis of my 12th marks and marks scored in NATA.
Campus Life
The campus life is just okay. There are students from different regions and all are treated well and equally. Extracurricular activities are more or less similar to the assignments carried out in the class. There is no sports ground for girls. And activities like sports, dance, etc. are almost ignored. The focus is more on speaking skills.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fees (including the mess charges) is Rs. 50,000 per semester. Accounting to a total of Rs. 5 Lakhs for 5 years. Basic facilities like drinking water, electric kettle, microwave, electric iron, washing machine are provided in the hostel. But amost of the time they don't work properly. The hostel rooms are not according to the needs of an architect. They are not spacious enough for two or three people. They are very congested and there is no space for keeping A1 size sheets. The hot bathing water provide in the bathrooms is available for a very short duration. Plus, there is lot of water wastage which nobody cares about. To get warm water, you need to throw at least 3 buckets of water every morning in every single bathroom, which is a very ghastly situation given we are taught everyday in the college about water scarcity.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors in the college are quite supportive and helpful. They are polite and friendly. They are interactive and welcoming.
Admission
The admission in the college is based on the marks obtained in the entrance exams JEE Main and NATA. I got admission by filling the admission form in which I entered my NATA and JEE Main score. After that there was an interview round with the college director Prof. Anil Kumar. And then I sought admission after getting approved in the interview.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is well-qualified and experienced. They make it their priority to help every student understand a topic. However, there are a few teachers who talk disrespectfully to students and use words that shouldn't be used inside an educational campus. Apart from that, the teaching quality is good and discipline is maintained.
