Remarks
I have never, since day one, regretted opting for this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum overall is really good. The syllabus is purely research driven and is practical. There is nothing irrelevant. There are regular tests, making sure that we are actually keeping in mind what all we have learnt and not forgotten. There are personal software classes held by the college to help us in the modernistic era, skill which a lot of professional architects are still lacing in. A simple policy here, work and you will be rewarded. Hard work here pays off. There are mural activities held in the college every Wednesday, devoted solely towards personality development of an individual, to be a professional.
Placement Experience
Here we are, under any circumstances, provided with any sort of help in our placements or internships. We have to manage everything on our own, and that in itself, is quite beneficial. We simply learn to struggle early on and there is nothing new for us in the market. We know how speak, talk, walk, things people start learning at a very later stage.
College Events
Events are regularly celebrated in the college campus. Events are highly promoted in the college and are generally held by the students themselves, in the process learning to organize and manage an event, even on a large scale. From decoration to invitation, everything is done by us.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees of the Bachelor's in Architecture in this college is Rs.2,00,000/- annually, including hostel fees and academic fees. Hostels here are compulsory for every student, irrespective of the year or place they are from. Other monthly expenses, for academics, can be up to Rs.2,000/-. On top of that, other living expenses can bring up the total cost to Rs.3,500/-.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I did not opted for any type of scholarship and educational loan at all. I paid for everything out of my pocket.
Campus Life
The campus life is really good. The social life here of everyone increases; the environment here is such. There are landscape areas for relaxation. The gender ratio is approximately 50:50. There is good interaction between both the genders, with group projects frequently going on. The Mural activities held weekly help us with our extracurricular.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fees, annually is Rs.1,00,000/-. Further expenses can be up to Rs.2,000/-, monthly. Regarding the hostel facilities, for the fees we are providing with, it is good. The rooms are spacious, as generally required by us architecture students. There is a large study table, bed and cupboard provided to us. There are common washrooms and toilets for everyone. Twice a day is the hostel cleaned, thoroughly, and once every room. The cleanliness is there. And the rules are strict, regarding everything.
Alumni/Alumna
The interaction here between the seniors and the juniors is a tradition. Seniors help us learn, with our academics and curricular. We call ourselves GCAD Family.
Admission
This college was recommended to me through various sources, including some of the popular upcoming architects. With the same words on their tongues, "they are the best members we have had in years." And a person who had been aspiring wholeheartedly to get an actually good architecture college, these words were like a magnet to me. The admission process was quite organised. Everyone knew what they had to do, and they did. The process went on through months in whole, while those who loved the institution had their formalities done. The interview was tough, but an eye opener.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is perhaps the best one can get in any college. The strictness here towards every aspect even extends towards the teachers. The teachers come to the classes and teach us wholeheartedly. The best thing about the whole experience so far has been the type of interaction we have had with everyone. All the teachers are ready to help you 24/7, even way after the college hours. The teachers are hungrier to impart knowledge to students than students are to learn.
