Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course curriculum aims to provide extensive training and coaching in Nutrition. We are taught subjects like Diet Therapy, Health Statistics, Biochemistry, Food Science etc along with an internship at the end of the course to get a hands-on experience in the field. For exams the university follows a 90:10 pattern, where there is a written paper of 90 marks and 10 marks are internal evaluation in the form of class tests which are conducted in between the classes.

Placement Experience

3.5

There are campus placement drives conducted by the college where companies like Amazon, Flipkart and BigBasket come with their officials to hire us. BCA people get great benefits. We do have to do an internship at the end of the course.

College Events

4

There are many seminars and guest lectures which take place in the seminar hall. Many experienced people are invited to the college and impart their knowledge to several students. The faculty will definitely encourage you to participate in events held outside of college for your betterment. Some sports meets are also held in the college. Apart from that, the only events that take place in college are the award ceremonies in which students are awarded and felicitated for their performance in the academic year.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Currently, there are two buildings of boys hostel which are properly in function. The girls hostel is under construction and will be completed soon. Boys come from various areas of India to study here. There is a lot of encouragement for cultural diversity and each culture is respected here. There are two heads of the hostels who are in charge of the two buildings of the hostels. It is really safe and secure around the campus, with canteen and other facilities available for the students at reasonable rates.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful and they are the ones who notify you about the extra curricular activities and events that take place in and around the college. Even they encourage you to participate in those events. The alumni network is very strong with over 1000 plus students who keep visiting the college annually and inspiring the new students to succeed and prosper in life.

Admission

The admission in this college is through your 12th Grade percentage. You get admission to this course with compulsory subjects of Biology and Chemistry with at least 45 percent aggregate marks. There will be a merit list prepared on the basis of your 12th grade marks. The strength of the course is 45. For me, i had scored 71 percent in 12th grade with a PCB average of 61 percent. In the merit list, my name was displayed and that's how i knew i got in. They look at your Chemistry and Biology marks as these two subjects play a vital role in Nutrition.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is working for the college for around 12 years. Our HOD, Mrs. Anumita Mallick, is a government approved head. She has been with our department since 2006 and is very helpful, approachable and soft spoken. There are 3 other guest lecturers. I can say that the faculty is truly experienced. They have tremendous knowledge about nutrition and we can go ask them about any academic doubt any time during working hours. They will surely answer your doubts and make sure you understand the concept.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Sc Computer Science Faculty: Student ratio is = 4:23 may vary a bit Faculty are well Qualified & Teaching method is okay good, but not to the mark like very good or excellent. The exam term was timely (sometimes it gets a bit late due to some natural disaster like cyclone, heavy rainfall, etc or any govt. & university delays), and the exam level is nearly too difficult, something like in between moderate to difficult.
