Remarks

Our college organises many extracurricular activities ranging from International conferences to debate and collage making competitions. LIAZO is the main cultural event being held annually, a variety of competitions like caption writing, quiz competition, pick and speak competition

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course centered on teaching the students, all the conventional techniques related to the mass comm discipline. The focus of our curriculum was not only to teach the journalism techniques but also to increase awareness among students on local, national and international issues and strengthen their analytical skills and capabilities.

Placement Experience

3.5

It doesn't offer any internship in the institution. The final year students get recruited outside the campus. They have to look for a job on their own.

College Events

3.5

Baldwin College is one of its kind, which incorporates the teaching along with issues like women empowerment. The college is a complete package in regards to academics and campus life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The BA Journalism course cost me around 3,00,000 INR for the first year. From there on it's only the tuition fee, which is pretty basic. My entire course cost me less than 4 lacs in total.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was good in our institute. Several workshops like the Investor Education Programme (IEP) on Capital Market Awareness were organised to create an atmosphere of overall learning. The infrastructure was also good.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are hostel facilities. Good food is provided. The cost per student for hostel residential is ₹90000 per year. There is a canteen and it would cost about ₹60 per meal.

Admission

The candidate must have passed the 12th with minimum of 50% marks from a recognized institute. No entrance exam is conducted. My admission was pretty straightforward.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English curriculum at the Central University of Karnataka is comprehensive and academically relevant. The course covers British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, providing students with a strong foundation in language and literature. The interdisciplinary approach under NEP and the availability of electives were among the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We get to learn many things not because of just the syllabus and courses but also because of the national and international conferences that are held in our college. People from other colleges come in and share their knowledge with us. This experience is really good for us students. We even have expert lectures from our alumnis who give us advice on what all is required in the world outside college to earn. All these are really helpful.
