Which textbooks do first year CSE (4 year course) students use at IIIT Hyderabad? What is the curriculum?

At IIIT Hyderabad, the first-year CSE students have no electives to choose from and are taught compulsory courses. The semester-wise curriculum has been mentioned below

Semester one

Semester 1:

• Mathematics I: Discrete Mathematics and its Applications by Kenneth Rosen
• Computer Programming: A Structured Approach Using C by Behrouz A Forouzan and Richard Gilberg
• Digital Logic and Processors: Digital Logic and Computer Design by M. Morris Mano
• Electrical Science I: Engineering Circuit Analysis by Hayt Jr., Kemmerly, and Dublin

Semester 2 

• Mathematics II: Same book as above and  Linear Algebra and its Applications by Gilbert Strang
• Data Structures: Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis in C by Mark Allen Weiss
• Basic Electronic Circuits: Microelectronic Circuits by Sedra and Smith
• Computer System Organization: Computer Organization and Design by Patterson and Hennesy

It also includes lab courses in programming and data structures, computer organization and architecture, and discrete structures.
