The intake for the M.Des program in IIT Hyderabad is not available.
Yes, you can always change your stream even after graduation. In case you are genuinely interested in designing clothes or learning garment/fabric technology, you certainly can pursue a career in fashion design. Once you complete B Tech in engineering, you can pursue a postgraduate or master's degree in Fashion Technology or Design. The Fashion stream offers a variety of courses.
In case you want to pursue the course from any government design college you will have to pass the entrance exam conducted in order to enroll in NID or NIFT. Since you have no design background, private colleges like IILM University will suit you the best and you can also look for Universities that conduct their own entrance examination. I have listed down some options that will help you change your stream to Fashion and also pursue a postgraduate course in the same.
For other designing fields like interior designing and industrial designing, your BTech degree will be beneficial. Fashion Engineering is a highly sought-after profession these days. So don't hesitate to switch your stream and follow your profession.
At the end of 4th sem, you can get an internship in any company their highest package goes around 40 lacks per annum Around 80% of students got placed in various companies and startups. My plan after getting the degree is to start my own brand.
Graduation in any field of study. There is an application form for around 3000 rs. There is SC st and OBC quota which helps you in the time of selection process from all over India. I would like to see an improvement in the admission process is no updates on time. Helpline no never helps in terms of selection.
The fee structure is high but worth it. There are lots of scholarships you can find it in college only. It's according to your marks and family income and economically poor students also have the leverage of education loans from ubi and other banks.
I choose that course to gain system-level understanding and research. There are 70% girls and 30 boys. Teaching methods of nift are really good and hardcore learning. There are 3 tests for every semester it's all about presentation there is no hard thing to pass.
Placement of college is difficult in terms Of one needing to be really really good to get one. There is a lot of competition. You are competing with the Pan India nifty campus and all the undergraduate and postgraduate students. But the placement process is also quite systematic as it is centralized.
The admission process was very systematic and smooth. All the forms and dates are on the NIT website. You need to keep checking the mail and be updated all the time. There is no specific eligibility. It is not necessary to be from a fashion background, students from all backgrounds can apply.
There are a lot of scholarship schemes that one can avail of. But the process for this is tedious. A lot of documentation and scrutinizing is required, so that the one in need can only avail of the scholarship benefits. Placement on campus is average, a lot of competition is there. One needs to be really really good to get one.
