What are the average campus placement salary figures for DU LLB graduates?

SA
Sansthiti Adwika Posted On : October 6th, 2022
Student at University of Delhi

There isn't a significant campus placement at Delhi University. Therefore, a specific average placement salary figure is not known. Although the Placement Assistance Council assists with placements, the college can only place a small number of the over 2100 students in a batch.

However, according to statistics, the largest annual package offered can be about 20 lakhs, with the average package being around 4-5 lakhs. As the five-year law program has become the favorite choice among these recruiters, the number of recruiters is decreasing every year. But even without placement, students do seek employment.

RM
Rhea Mishra Posted On : April 16th, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Law (LL.B) & Master of Laws at University of Delhi (2019)

Jindal Global Law School i.e JGLS LLB program is among the finest in India among the law schools offering fully residential and truly accurate 3-year LLB programs.

Below are some facts about JGLS:

  • This could be on par with most of the 5-year law programs in the country including those offered at topmost law schools.
  • The precision involved in JGLS LLB could be as good as the JD programs of the USA or Canada if not better.
  • LLB batches have produced distinguished alumni who have won international moots like the ELSA WTO moot.
  • Scholarships like the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship for LLM at Cambridge University have been grabbed by the alumni.
  • The alumni are working in leading law firms like White and Case London or Amarchand and Luthra.

LLB 3-year program has been the best at Delhi University Law Faculty, particularly the Campus Law Center. Traditional law colleges like BHU Law School Varanasi, ILS Law College Pune and Panjab University Chandigarh, GLC Mumbai, etc are also good.

Is doing law from Allahabad University good?

AR
Alankrita Rajbhar Posted On : July 27th, 2022
Studied at University of Allahabad (2018)

If you want a career in litigation, then Allahabad University is a good option. You will get ample time and resources to build required skills. Allahabad High Court and lower courts will assist in clearing your basics and make you a professional. It is a good option for judicial services too. You will be able to manage your preparations, as attendance rules aren’t strict.

But for corporate sector jobs, Allahabad University isn’t a good option. Very few companies visit the campus placements.

Allahabad University law degrees are cost-effective compared to NLUs. The total tuition fee for LLB at the university is only INR 2.3 Lakhs. Also, Allahabad isn’t a costly city.

RV
Rishabh Verma Posted On : November 18th, 2022
B.A.L.L.B. from Law School Banaras Hindu University (Graduated 2022)

The BHU entrance exam for 3 yr LLB is not necessarily very tough. But the pattern of the paper keeps changing so it’s highly unpredictable. Some tips that might help you prepare for the same are

  • GK- Almost 50% of the paper consists of GK and GS. For this, you have to go through GK statistics. Refer to Arihant Publications and Lucent for the same.

  • Maths- To prepare for this section, be well-versed with the Maths syllabus till class 10. Knowing the basics and solving problems quickly is the trick here.

  • Language- This section consists of 30 questions and is the easiest part. Your own command of whichever language you have chosen (English or Hindi) will help you score marks in this section.

  • Legal- The legal part is full of questions based on principles and facts. These can be practiced from the previous year's question papers.

These tips are more than enough to crack BHU entrance for 3 yr LLB.

How do I study for LLB exams and get good marks Im in LLB 1st year since 2 years? How do I write papers from Pune University?

SG
Sakshi Gupta Posted On : September 29th, 2021
LLM in Master of Laws & Corporate Law,Symbiosis Law School,Pune (2020)

Exams are simple to pass, however gaining necessary information is a little tougher. It's the right technique to make your concepts obvious, mentioning sections and focusing on the bare act. Doing the following would be a lot easier method:

  • Classroom lectures are always the most effective.
  • Making running notes entails writing down what you believe is important.
  • Choose a standard reading book (textbook/reference book) for each subject.
  • This is the only book you should read if you want to pass your examinations.
  • An author’s book, often known as a "Commentary," would be beneficial for conceptual clarity as well as legal expertise and terminology.

Presentation is another useful tool. You could present the answer in your own distinct style. Make a clear format for how you'll write your answers. The following is an example of a possible response:

  • A brief introduction (A line or two introducing the answer to the question)
  • The case's/facts questions (if any)
  • Provision of the law (Includes Section, Article, Clause if you know it)
  • The inference made by you (the actual answer that is examined)
  • Jurisprudence (if any)
  • Conclusion

If the issue is for lower marks, your structure can be simplified, but the Section, Article, Clause, and Case law should still be included.

If recalling Sections and other details is tough, focus on the most important ones. When a topic is presented, the rest of the book can be read leisurely with consistent and pertinent references.

Can a SOL DU graduate student apply for L.L.B regular from a Delhi university?

SK
Saloni Kaushik Posted On : September 29th, 2021
Masters from Department of History,Delhi University (2021)

SOL DU is recognized by UGC, so you will be eligible to apply for a regular LLB from Delhi University. The following are the requirements for admission to Delhi University's law school for the LLB degree program.

  • You must have a Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree from the University of Delhi or its equivalent with at least 50% marks if you are from General and Other Backward Classes (OBC). However, the cut-off marks for OBC applicants in the Entrance Test will be up to 10% lower than the marks announced for general candidates.
  • OBC category students are granted a 5% relaxation in the minimum eligibility requirements.
  • The widows/wards of defense personnel (CW) category are granted a 5% relaxation in the minimum eligibility requirements for general candidates.
  • Candidates belonging to the physically handicapped (PH) category are granted a relaxation of up to 5% in the minimum eligibility prescribed for general candidates.

You will also need to give an entrance examination if you are applying for this course. I recommend that you contact the relevant university for more information.

How is Amity University, Noida for 3 year law?

NS
Nikita Sen Posted On : April 17th, 2021
Bachelor’s in Pharmacy Bachelor of Pharmacy & Business, Amity University, Noida (2021)

As far as a review of doing a 3 year LLB from Amity Law College, Noida, a friend of mine who did the course was not too keen on the college. According to her, the overall reputation of the college is not very good. As far as the faculty is concerned, it is alright, nothing extraordinary.

If you want to seriously pursue a law degree, a complete five-year law course is much better appreciated in the market. And if you are looking at placements, they are not that good. You will have to look for a job on your own if you are not from the top three national law schools. If not, do an LLM from abroad. That will probably help.

However, if you intend to pursue law within the country itself, you should look at colleges in South India that could be better than Amity Noida. Try IFIM law school as a first. Definitely don’t go to Amity Law School Noida.

Can I get admission in an LLB after doing a BA from YCMOU?

SP
Shivani Pathak Posted On : November 18th, 2020
Studied at YCMOU

YCMOU is an open university that has been recognized by the UGC. Students are required to meet certain criteria when it comes to securing admissions at the institute. While one can definitely continue with a degree in LLB after BA, here are some specific details about the BA degree from YCMOU.

Eligibility, Fees, and about the Course:

  • The program goes on for a duration of 3 years and students must pass 10+2 to be eligible for the same.

  • Multiple specializations are provided with this degree in areas including general consumer services, mass communication, journalism, spirituality, etc.

  • Specializations are also provided in languages like Urdu, English, and Hindi.

  • The total fee for the entire course is about INR 4,500.

Course Curriculum:

  • The course is divided into three years in which students will learn a diverse number of topics depending on the specialization chosen.

  • A compulsory foundation course is included in the first year with topics ranging from history, social sciences, humanities, etc.

  • Topics to study in English include reading a novel, short story along with subjects like environmental sciences.

  • Much of the course material (except languages) seems to be in the language of Marathi.

Eligibility for LLB:

  • The prerequisite for an LLB degree is that the student must be a graduate with at least 50% marks.

  • Depending on the university one applies to, one may have to give an entrance exam as well.

Thus, all students who have successfully completed the BA degree are eligible for the LLB program. This poses quite an advantage as one can appear for civil and judicial services later in life despite doing a degree in the form of distance education. Thus, YCMOU is a good option for BA in order to pursue LLB.
