There is a major difference between the 2 B Schools, SPJIMR and SP Jain. The former is an Australian B School with 4 campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, and Sydney whereas the latter is a Management Institute offering Management courses at its only campus in Mumbai.
Although Mumbai has a variety of decent B Schools to choose from, my brother chose SP Jain for EMBA. He had a list of criteria he looked for in his dream B School and according to him, SP Jain fulfilled it all. Some of his major requisites were
He found all these features in SP Jain and was very glad he chose it. In fact, through his Executive MBA, he claimed to have got an insight into the business world and see how businesses in other sectors survive. He believes to have developed a more holistic view post this program. Professionally too, he is doing pretty well and the program has helped him gain success.
SP Jain doesn’t provide any specific course for PGDM in operations. They have one executive MBA in operations and Supply chain management. It’s 11 months and it requires a minimum work experience of 4 years. So, if you have relevant work experience in operations and just need to brush up your skills you should definitely go for SP Jain.
Many people choose to enroll in the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad due to its reputation and the success of its alumni. However, it is important to note that the SP Jain Global MBA program is also a highly regarded option. In fact, it has been recognized by Forbes and The Economist as a top MBA program in the world, an accomplishment that ISB has not yet achieved. Additionally, SP Jain Global has a long history of providing quality education and producing talented professionals. This is particularly true for the Family Managed Business course, which is taught by a faculty that includes a large number of international university doctorates.
Given its reputation, the experience of its professors, and the specific offerings of the Family Managed Business course, SP Jain Global is a strong choice for those looking to inherit and expand a family-run business.
No matter which B School you choose, PGP is always a better choice than ABM. But there might be a specific reason why you got an ABM offer rather than a PGP. But at IIM Lucknow, students of both programs are offered equal opportunities. These include final placements. summer placements and subsequent PPOs.
The major drawback of ABM is that you are deprived of the PGP electives and can cover ABM electives only. These electives cover strategy marketing and operations.
Talking about your offer from SP JAIN for IM, let me tell you that in this regard, IIM Shillong is a much better choice. Its campus in Dubai is a testament to its worth.
SPJIMR PGPFMB (Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business) is a better and clear choice between the two.
This program was launched by SPJIMR in the year 1997, so it is quite a renowned program. This program has a network of 4000+ alumni to take guidance from. This program offers a classroom learning experience, and it last for 18 months.
The fee for the program is 16 lac for 18 months. While the GFMB program was launched recently by SP Jain Global, so if you have a choice, then I would recommend you to go for PGPFMB.
