Here are some details about both these colleges-
VSSUT holds a strong reputation in Orissa, but CET isn’t that popular. One reason being that there are plenty of Engineering institutes in Bhubaneswar. VSSUT offers better placement prospects than CET. Even though CET receives more companies due to its favorable location, VSSUT receives more job offers.

CET Bhubaneswar has recently released the placement details according to which a total of 649 job offers were made to 474 students. The Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering students bagged the highest number of offers during CET BBSR placements 2023.

All three have their own pros and cons.You need to consider the following factors while making your choice-
- Faculty- CET has the best faculty among the three. VSSUT and IIIT are at par with each other in this respect.
- Research Opportunities- All three are lacking in this regard. Their infrastructure and faculty support isn’t good enough.
- Crowd- VSSUT and CET offer a variety of courses. IIIT Bhubaneswar offers engineering degrees in limited branches. Thus, VSSUT and CET will give you exposure to people from different academic interests.
- Alumni- VSSUT and CET (OUTR) are both old institutions, so they have a strong alumni network.
- Infrastructure- CET and VSSUT have huge campuses, but their hostels lack modern infrastructure. IIIT Bhubaneswar has a small campus, but top notch hostel facilities.

Core placements, however, are better at VSSUT than CET. This is because VSSUT is at least 25 years older than CET and has an elaborate alumni network across many top companies. However, overall both institutes have pretty good placement scenarios.
CET however is better in terms of co-curricular activities, availability of coaching, connectivity with the rest of the state and country, and quality of living. It is suggested you choose CSE at KIIT University. One of my friends studied there. According to him, there is no comparison between the branch of KIIT CSE and CET.
- The companies visiting KIIT include major names such as Microsoft, Amazon, SAP, Dell, Intel, HP.
- Placements are one of the things you must check before entering a university. KIIT offers good investments.
- The entire academic and non-academic exposure at KIIT is far greater.
- The faculty members are qualified from IITs and top NITs. They are skilled and cooperative.
