On what basis is USICT considered the premier college for engineering in IPU?

USICT is considered a premier college for engineering in IPU mainly due to its strong curriculum and faculty. I chose to pursue B.Tech in Information Technology here because the faculty is highly qualified, with many holding PhDs. The curriculum is designed to keep up with industry needs, which really helps us prepare for jobs after graduation.

Plus, the placement opportunities are excellent; companies like Amazon and Adobe visit our campus, and last year, the highest package was 45 LPA. This combination of good faculty and strong placement support makes USICT stand out.

So, USICT is seen as the top engineering college in IPU because of a few key reasons. First, it has the government label, which adds to its reputation. The fees are quite affordable, which is a big plus. It also boasts the best hostel facilities compared to other engineering colleges in Delhi, except for IIT-D. I've stayed in the hostels of all the major engineering colleges in Delhi for more than 15 days each, so I can vouch for this.

When it comes to infrastructure, USICT is ahead of the pack in IPU. Academically, the focus isn't on rote memorization, so while we might not always have the top academic scorers, we do have well-rounded students. However, placements could use some improvement, as they're not the best in IPU.

Despite this, the trend is for top students to choose USICT, which keeps the student body vibrant and competitive. Still, other colleges in IPU aren't too far behind, and any of them could potentially catch up to USICT's level.

In essence, it's the trend that places USICT at the top of IPU's engineering colleges, similar to how IIT-B leads the IITs, BITS-P tops the BITS campuses, and NIT-W leads the NITs. Ultimately, your own efforts will determine your experience.

I believe USICT is a top choice for engineering in IPU due to its overall campus life and opportunities. The college has a huge campus with facilities like sports courts and a well-equipped library. Events like Anugoonj, the annual cultural fest, really bring the college community together. Additionally, the scholarship options, like the EWS scheme, make it more accessible for students. The combination of an active campus life and solid academic support makes it a preferred choice for many aspiring engineers.

Each year, the highest-ranking students check out the previous year's cutoff list and choose USICT as their top choice, just like the students did the year before. This cycle keeps repeating itself.

One of the reasons I find USICT to be the premier college in IPU is because of its excellent placement cell. From the 7th semester, companies start coming for recruitment due to the college's proximity to Gurgaon and Noida.

In 2022, over 70 companies visited, offering an impressive average package of around 14.5 LPA for my B.Tech in Information Technology. The faculty is also a significant factor, as most of them are PhD holders and provide quality education, making the learning experience quite enriching.
