How good is usict?

USICT, being the primary campus of IP, definitely has its advantages.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. With courses like MCA, M.Tech, CT, and Law, you'll likely expand your network. The two-story library has everything you need. There's also ample parking and facilities for sports like football, badminton, lawn tennis, and basketball.

Placements: The placement rate improves each year. Well-known companies such as Snapdeal, Flipkart, Nagarro, Adobe, and Oracle visited for placements last year.

Clubs: There are numerous active clubs. Aveksha is great for drama enthusiasts, while Zenith E-cell supports those interested in entrepreneurship. The E-Cell at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is also notable.

One downside is the limited interaction between seniors and juniors, although seniors are making efforts, and many workshops are being organized. I haven't experienced the fests yet, but I'm looking forward to them.

I am currently pursuing my B.Tech + M.Tech in Information Technology at USICT, and I have mixed feelings about it. The curriculum is pretty relevant, covering essential topics like data structures and networking, and the professors are generally supportive.

However, the placement rates have dropped this year due to the recession, with the highest package being 23 LPA compared to 45 LPA last year. The fees are also on the rise, making it a bit more challenging financially.

Still, the campus life is decent, with good sports facilities and an annual fest called Anugoonj, which is quite a big deal.

Being a student of Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] + M.Tech. (Information Technology) at USICT, I think the college has its pros and cons. The faculty is mostly well-qualified, and the classes are not too difficult if you start studying a bit before exams. But the internship opportunities are limited, especially for first-year students like me. The fees have increased to 132,000 for the first year, which is a concern for many. However, the campus is nice, with a big library and various clubs to join, so there's plenty to engage with outside of academics.

The faculty here are mostly PhD holders, which is great because they know their stuff. However, the gender ratio is quite poor, with very few girls in my class. Overall, I think it’s a decent choice if you’re looking for good faculty and a tech-oriented curriculum.

PLACEMENTS: The quality of placements varies by department. If you're in CSE or IT, you can expect good opportunities, while fields like MCA(SE) and ECE have average placement outcomes.

STUDIES: The academic environment is pretty relaxed, which is great if you're planning to do a lot of self-directed learning.

HOSTELS: There are four hostels on campus, split evenly between boys and girls. They're clean and better maintained than many other hostels I've seen. The food in the mess is okay, and the atmosphere is friendly and enjoyable despite the many rules set by the administration. I spent three years there, and they were amazing years.

CAMPUS: The campus is well-maintained, nicely secluded from city noise, and well connected by transport.

P.S. A new food court just popped up nearby, giving you a cool spot to hang out with your friends.

LIBRARY: The library is air-conditioned with plenty of books and stays open until 9 PM for those living on campus, making it a good place to study during hot days.

SPORTS: There are proper courts for badminton, basketball, and tennis. In the evenings, people often play cricket, football, and volleyball.

EVENTS: Anugoonj is the annual cultural festival, which is alright. There's also a yearly sports meet that's a lot of fun if you're into athletics.

Oh, and the whole campus has Wi-Fi, which is super fast. It's probably the fastest internet you'll ever experience, and I'm not exaggerating.
