How is IT at USICT?

I opted for the B.Tech in Information Technology at USICT and it’s been a good experience so far. The coursework is comprehensive, with a strong focus on programming and core IT subjects. I appreciate that the exams are not too tough, and you can easily pass if you start preparing a couple of weeks in advance.

The internship opportunities seem promising, with many companies like Amazon and TCS coming in. However, the placement packages have dropped this year compared to last year, which is a concern. Campus life is vibrant, with events like Anugoonj happening annually, making it a fun environment. Overall, I'm satisfied with my decision to study here.

I’m currently enrolled in the B.Tech + M.Tech program in Information Technology at USICT, and honestly, it's a mixed bag. The curriculum is quite extensive, covering a lot of ground, and it's updated regularly with industry trends like AI and machine learning.

The faculty is generally supportive, but some teachers are strict and can be hard to approach. The placement scene has seen better days; last year, the average package was around 12 LPA, but this year it has dropped significantly.

The campus is pretty nice, with good facilities and a library full of resources. The annual fest, Anugoonj, is a highlight of the year, but the student-to-faculty ratio could be better. Overall, I feel like it offers decent value for the money.

Since USICT is the main campus of IP University, it definitely has its advantages.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite decent. With courses like MCA, M.Tech, Computer Technology, and Law, you’ll likely expand your network. The library is two floors and well-stocked with resources. Plus, there are spacious parking areas and facilities for sports like football, badminton, lawn tennis, and basketball.

Placements: The placement rate is on the rise each year. Well-known companies like Snapdeal, Flipkart, Nagarro, Adobe, and Oracle visited for recruitment last year.

Clubs: There are lots of active clubs. For those interested in drama, there's Aveksha, and for budding entrepreneurs, there's the Zenith E-Cell.

One downside is the limited interaction between seniors and juniors, though seniors are making efforts to improve this with various workshops. I haven't had the chance to experience the fests yet.

The IT program at USICT is quite good. I chose the Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology because of my interest in coding. The curriculum is well-structured, covering essential topics like Data Structures and Algorithms, and the practical labs are quite informative.

The faculty is mostly qualified, with many holding PhDs, but some professors can be a bit strict. As for exams, we have minor and major assessments that are manageable if you prepare in advance.

The campus life is decent, with annual fests like Anugoonj and a good library. However, the gender ratio is quite unbalanced, which can be a downside. Overall, I think it's a solid choice for anyone interested in IT.

The IT department at USICT is the most established one. Most of the staff and curriculum are shared with the CSE department, with just a couple of exceptions. The faculty is mostly the same and generally quite competent, though there are a few exceptions. The coding culture is okay but is getting better over time. Just to add, while I studied CSE, a friend of mine who was in IT at USICT from 2012 to 2016 provided this information. I hope this helps you understand better.
