The Hostel facility is quite good with minimal charges. In the room we get table, chair, bed, fan, cupboard and a balcony attached with room. Meal quality is very good. Registration process for these are quite smooth.

B.Sc, Mathematics at IISc Bangalore in 2019
Rooms are quite basic, with shelves, cupboards and a study table. Some hostels have attached kitchens/bathrooms and newer hostels have common cooking areas. Overall the rooms are quite good given the price.
IISc has the best messes of any institute in the country. There are five messes with at least two more planned. They offer a variety of cuisines. Students are assigned one mess and can change every three months or so. But they can be guested in to other messes by paying. The menu is very varied and most food items are amazing.

Hostels are good with basic aminities like water, electricity, house-keeping, bed, study-table and chairs. The ventillation is good in most of the rooms and new hostels are being built to accomodate 2000-4000 more people. Mess food is really tasty and healthy. Hostels are quite affordable with fees ranging from 6000-7500 per month including room, mess, all other aminities.

The hostel facilities provided by the campus are top notch. The hostels have been divided into blocks, with UG students being assigned E block, U block and S block. The rooms are well equipped with beds, fans, cupboards, and lights. The rooms in E block are twin sharing, while single occupancy rooms are available in U & S block. Room allotment is random. The hostels are assigned on the first day of coming to campus and are very cheap at 5000 per month. The hostels are located at a central location of the campus so that classrooms are nearby.
The food provided at the campus is of excellent quality. There are 5 messes A and B being North Indian veg and North Indian non veg, C and D being South Indian veg and South Indian nonveg, and E mess providing a composite diet. The menus are decided by a mess committee elected from the students by the students. 4 meals are provided everyday, breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Special items are made on festivals, dessert and beverages are there.
