Which should I choose, CSE at IIT Hyderabad or electrical in IIT Delhi according to placement?
If you are evaluating the institutes based on placements, then you will be pleased to know that IIT Delhi ranks 28th position in the Top 50 of Times Higher Education Global Employability University Ranking and Survey.
However, I feel placements should not be the determining factor as the IIT tag will get you placed with a good package irrespective of whichever IIT you choose. The primary determining factor should be your inclination towards a specific branch. If you target a specific branch just based on placements, you are likely to lose interest soon. This will result in a frustrated career. In fact, I have seen many students opt out of CS just because they realize that it’s not their cup of tea and go for average branches that intrigue them genuinely.

Both ECE at IIT Guwahati and CSE at IIT Bhubaneswar are great options for you. However, the choice majorly depends on your personal choice and your career perspectives. I don’t have much idea about IIT Guwahati but I can guide you about CSE in IIT Bhubaneswar.

Which should be preffered IIT bhu electrical or BITS pilani EEE?
IIT BHU and BITS Pilani are two highly reputed institutions for engineering studies in India.
IIT BHU would be a better option over BITS Pilani because of these reasons:
- Brand Value: IIT BHU carries the prestigious “IIT'' tag. Thus, it has a greater brand value than BITS Pilani. This becomes important when applying to foreign universities for your higher studies.
- Fees: As a government institution, the fees of IIT BHU is much more affordable as compared to BITS Pilani. Thus, IIT BHU has a higher ROI (Return on Investment) because it offers even better placements than BITS Pilani.

Should I take IIIT Delhi or IIT Mandi? I wish to take electrical in Mandi and CS in IIIT Delhi?
Both IIT Mandi and IIIT Delhi are excellent institutions with well-established programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science respectively. The decision of which one to attend should depend on your personal preferences and academic goals rather than the quality of the branch. IIT Mandi is known for its strong emphasis on research, while IIIT Delhi is known for its focus on applied technology.
Both colleges give an edge to each other in terms of placements and quality of education offered. If you aren’t certain of your preference yet, it's best to go for IIT Mandi. There are 2 main reasons why I prefer IIT Mandi to IIIT Delhi.
- Firstly, one can never underestimate the value of the IIT tag. It’s like attaching yourself to a branch for the rest of your life.
- Secondly, IIT Mandi is well known for its lenient branch change. This helps you explore multiple branches in the first year and then finalize the most preferred branch in the second year. It’s a win-win situation in either case.
However, solely relying on branch change is not wise and you should analyze other angles also.
Which is better, CSE at IIT Dharwad or electrical in IIT Bhubaneswar?
Electrical engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar is a great choice, and I can vouch for that, as I have studied there. I don’t have much idea about CSE at IIT Dharwad.
- IIT Bhubaneswar is a well-recognized academic institution in India with an excellent curriculum and student research facilities.
- The institution provides BTech and MTech programs.
- The course fee for first-year BTech is INR 2.32 Lakhs, and 92.86% of students will be placed in 2023.
- IIT Bhubaneswar holds an excellent placement track record.
- The highest package is INR 44.62 LPA, and the average package is INR 19.05 LPA.
How is electrical engineering at UIT Burdwan University?
Overall, UIT Burdwan University is not that great. However, if you are only considering the electrical engineering department of the institute, then it is quite good.
The faculties are extremely supportive and helpful towards students. They are well-experienced. But don’t expect to score easily. You will have to study hard to score good marks in examinations.
The institute offers good lab amenities as well. However, unlike many other universities, UIT Burdwan University does not quite provide the best technical or practical knowledge. It is up to you to make the most of your time at the institute.
Which should I prefer among IIT Hyderabad EE and IIIT Hyderabad CSE?
I don’t think you should even consider joining IIT Hyderabad EE when you have the option of IIIT Hyderabad CSE given the fact that it’s the 2nd best in India after IIT Bombay CSE. The course is very challenging and IIIT Hyderabad does not have a lively atmosphere like IITs. Rather, the entire focus is on CS courses and research work. Although the campus is very small and lacks any extracurricular facilities, it’s heaven for coders. The academic workload is terrible with intense competition among peers.
- So, if you are certain of your genuine interest in coding and are ready to get committed to it for the rest of your life, nothing will serve you better than IIIT Hyderabad.
- But if you prefer a more flexible learning environment with more courses to choose from, IIT Hyderabad EE is the right option for you. Here, you can explore more electives apart from EE and in fact, EE itself has some computer courses like data science, machine learning, etc.
Overall, both are excellent choices, and it’s only a matter of preference. Go for IIIT if you are certain of CS and go for IIT if you aren’t sure of your inclinations. Either way, you will not be disappointed.
Which is better, CSE at ISM or Electrical at IIT Bhu?
I am a student of Electrical Engineering at IIT BHU. Even though CSE is the most popular branch in today’s job market, I would recommend you go with the second option. Here are the reasons that make IIT BHU a better choice than IIT(ISM) Dhanbad:
- IIT BHU was established in 1919, while IIT Dhanbad was established in 1926. This gives IIT BHU an edge in terms of experience and legacy.
- IIT BHU offers a wider range of engineering disciplines. Even IIT Dhanbad does so, but it is mainly known for its contribution in the field of mining and earth sciences.
- IIT BHU ranks comparatively better in various national rankings.
- IIT BHU has a large and diverse alumni base across various industries. Here are some reputed alumni from our institute-

Which is better, Kanpur civil or IIT BHU electrical?
Both IIT BHU and IIT Kanpur are one of the best and oldest institutes in India. But according to me IIT Kanpur is better than IIT BHU here are some reasons:
- IIT Kanpur generally ranks higher than IIT BHU in the NIRF rankings. As of the most recent rankings IIT Kanpur is usually within the top 5 engineering institutes in India and IIT BHU typically ranks between 10 to 15.
- Both IIT Kanpur and IIT BHU have excellent placement records. Electrical Engineering at IIT BHU has placement records with an average CTC is 18 lakh whereas Civil Engineering at IIT Kanpur also has strong placement statistics with an average CTC is 22 lakh.
- When it comes to research education and course curriculum IIT Kanpur is better than IIT BHU.
Considering the above points I could say go for IIT Kanpur over IIT BHU. Although, it depends on personal choice.
How and when does a student have to do an internship at Thapar University (B.E. Electrical)?
I have a friend from Thapar University and he was able to provide some information regarding this. In the B.E. Electrical course, you can secure internship opportunities twice, wherein the first one will be in the 8th semester, and the other one is a 6 week-long training period.
- Students who acquire placements with FTE+intersip or only internship have to continue doing it for as long as the contract is.
- Students who don’t secure any placement must work on their own to obtain internships. It’s better to choose an internship program at any core company. Elsewise, you will obtain lower grades.
For the 6-week training, you will need to search for internship opportunities, especially on your own in numerous parts of the industry. The firms can range anywhere from a reactor plant, a thermal plant, or a hydroelectric plant. It depends upon your academic exposure and credentials. The work should be related to the branch and the topics you are familiar with. Make sure to create the file with accurate and standard formatting, to avoid mark deduction.
