LPU follows CGPA i.e., Cumulative Grade Point Average as a grading system to help students evaluate their progress in their respective courses. Students are provided grades based on their marks. To calculate the CGPA, students have to divide their total grade points for all semester subjects by the total number of credit hours attended. 

For a CGPA out of ten, students can divide their percentage by 9.5 and the resulting sum will be the CGPA. Points for various grades are mentioned in the following table.

I completed my BTech from LPU in 2021. From what I experienced during my time there, I can safely conclude that the placement policy at LPU is really good. LPU has a dedicated department called the Centre for Professional Enhancement that works to prepare students for various campus drives and provide students with career opportunities. 

During the second year of the course, students are required to choose a placement and appear in the exam. Students opting for placement have to pay the placement fee and are provided with PEP classes, preparation courses, interview preparation and more. LPU has more than 5500 offers from Fortune 500 companies with more than 2100 students hired. The average salary for the top 25% of students placed was INR 10.1 Lakh.

As a BTech student at LPU, I can provide the first-year syllabus for BTech in CSE. The first-year syllabus generally covers foundational subjects required to develop a strong base in students to understand computer science. The year is divided into 2 semesters which are called Autumn Term and Spring Term at LPU. The syllabus for both terms is mentioned in the tables below.

Students can also pursue four elective courses in various specialisations and aspects during the curriculum to develop additional skills and competency.

For fee structure without any scholarships, the total cost of B.Tech at LPU is INR 11.20 Lakhs. Other than the tuition fee, the students also have to pay around INR 44,000 as hostel fees. The hostel fee is calculated based on the first year/semester. If all the amount is calculated, students have to pay around a total of INR 15.60 lakhs to pursue BTech at LPU including hostel charges.

The total fee for BTech depends on the student's performance in the LPUNEST exam. The university offers heavy discounts to students with good scores that bring down the total cost by large numbers. Students with exceptional records can expect their entire tuition fee covered by the university. LPU has allocated over INR 100 crores of amount to students as scholarships.

I am currently pursuing BTech in Food Technology from LPU. The university does not release the exact number of students that get enrolled every year but considering the data available online, the college has around 32,000 students pursuing various courses. The campus has students from all over the Indian states and around 40 countries. 

The university has around 1800+ international students and more than 50 lakh global LPU alumni. The university offers courses in 150+ disciplines which is the reason for such a high number of students.

LPU offers two undergraduate programs in interior design. These are-

• B.Sc. (Design - Interior and Furniture)
• B.Design (Interior and Furniture)

As a student of interior design at LPU, I’ve listed below the benefits of pursuing this field from my university-

1. Study Tours- The students get the opportunity to visit architectural sites to understand the technical aspects of architecture and interior design.
2. Workshops- The program offers access to extensive product design workshops where students create finished full-scale prototypes. 
3. Live-Projects-The students work on live projects to enhance their critical thinking and problem solving skills.
4. Modern Software- The department labs and workshops have the latest technology in the form of laser cutters, digital 3D printers, scanners and power tools.
5. Skill Development- The program provides knowledge of professional design practices, processes and intellectual property issues.
6. Studio- The students learn digital proficiency programs to gain expertise in industry related software.

Overall the interior design course at LPU is good. You’ll get plenty of opportunities and facilities at the university.

LPU offers various sports facilities for its students. I am a sports enthusiast myself, and I found the sports infrastructure at LPU to be sufficient. 

Here are some of the sports facilities available at the university campus-

• Cricket Ground- The university has a decent ground for cricket.
• Athletics Track- The track has eight lanes and is 400-meter long. It is a synthetic running track and is used by sprinters, hurdlers, and intermediate runners.

• Football Fields- The university has several artificial turf football fields for football practice and matches.

• Basketball Courts- There are a number of outdoor hoops and backboard-equipped courts inside LPU campus. These are used by students for both recreational and competitive play.
• Tennis Courts- There are hard-surface tennis courts with nets and proper lighting.

These are some of the sports facilities offered at LPU. I love to play cricket in the university ground in my leisure time.
