Christ University > Jain University for most non-engineering courses. here's the comparison:
Christ University: excellent brand especially for BBA, B.Com, MBA. strict but strong academics. disciplined campus culture (attendance rules, uniform in some depts). top MNCs recruit from Christ for management roles. national reputation is strong.
Jain University: more flexible, relaxed environment. decent programs but placements lag behind Christ. spread across multiple Bangalore campuses. gives more academic freedom but lower outcomes overall.
verdict: Christ wins on brand, placements, and faculty quality for management/commerce programs. Jain is suitable if you specifically want a less structured environment or flexibility for dual degrees. for engineering, neither is top-tier — look at better options (MSRIT, RV, BMS, PES) instead.

To get shortlisted and get a call from Tapmi, you would need to score anything above the 85 percentile on either the CAT or XAT. If you have substantial work experience, you also might get a call at 80+ percentile. However, getting an interview call does not ensure a seat in Tapmi. You would need to perform equally well in the PI, and GD processes too.
My sister is an IITian however she completed her Engineering from IIT Roorkee instead and not from IIT Bombay. Due to her average JEE Rank, she was admitted to Pulp and Paper Engineering branch only. Only later did she realize that high packages are reserved for very few people, The cream of the batch. Your branch and CGPA largely determine your package.
She faced a terrible situation during her placements. Not even below-average companies considered Pulp and Paper Engineering students. Owing to her interest in Programming, she was offered a job by Patni Computers at 3.6 LPA but with a 2-year bond of Rs. 75,000 (which required you to pay before joining as security). This seemed a bit odd and she decided to join an educational start-up that offered the same package without the bond. Most of her peers had much better packages on hand.
Today, she earns 12 times what she earned during that time and her income is at the same level as those of her peers. Even today she gets offers from people to consider moving to another more established startup at a 50% hike in salary.

The best way is not to set any targets because when you do, you are limiting yourself to a certain extent. You may or may not achieve your target. But if you don’t set one, you can aim for the sky. AIIMS Delhi was the dream college of one of my friends who had literally no chance of making it into it. The only mantra he followed was not to expect yourself to perform to a particular or specific level, but rather give it your all. As for the preparation strategy, here is what he shared
Hope you score well!
