What department in MNNIT Allahabad has the best faculty?

RB
Ramesh Banerjee Posted On : April 29th, 2021
Studied at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad (2019)

Mechanical Engineering Department in MNNIT has the best faculties. However, the following are the reasons for this consideration.

  • Professors of this department are mostly highly qualified. However, a majority of them have done Ph.D., on the contrary of CSED.
  • Besides, the professors from the Mechanical Department of MNNIT are also well-experienced.
  • Most of them have a research profile, which influences the student’s mind towards the research-based work and study. They are also very helpful; if you want to pursue a research-oriented study, they welcome it from the heart.

Moreover, the most dissatisfactory thing about this department is the lack of cheering the students. My friend told me that he never saw anyone from his batch work on a research-based project or doing any further research-related studies.

Why is the IIIT Bangalore not much recognized in spite of having an excellent faculty?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : October 7th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

It’s true that IIIT Bangalore has an excellent faculty pool and a well-structured curriculum yet struggles to maintain a good image in the student community. This has resulted from many combined factors such as

  • The iMTech program offered by IIIT Bangalore is relatively new and is yet to establish its name in the industry
  • IIIT Bangalore does not believe in marketing and prefers the reputation of the college to spread by word of mouth.
  • The most important factor that has resulted in IIIT Bangalore's poor reputation is that it does not offer any 4 years BTech programs. Not many prefer spending 5 years instead of 4 in the integrated program.

I hope IIIT Bangalore overcomes these issues and gains the hype it deserves.

Which is better in terms of a better study environment, academic quality and faculty GBPUAT Pantnagar or GBPEC Pauri Garhwal?

RS
Rajesh Sharma, Posted On : November 1st, 2021
B.Tech from Uttarakhand Technical University (2017)

It is recommended that you do not opt for GBPEC Pauri. Here are some reasons why:

  • It lacks basic life amenities and you won't be able to get proper medical facilities.
  • Availability of water will be a big problem.
  • The hygiene level of mess and hostels here is extremely low.
  • The faculty and quality of education are not at par with GBPUAT or even DIT.
  • GBPUAT Pantnagar is a better college than GBPEC Pauri in terms of infrastructure, location, and faculty.
  • The administration is suffering from internal politics and no attention is given to student grievances.

You can rather go for DIT or GEU Dehradun which will provide a comparatively better environment and facilities.

IEM Kolkata faculties are good. The professors of the institute are well-experienced and cooperative. You can get their help in any doubt you have. The faculty base of IEM includes notable personalities like Prof. Kamakhya Prasad Ghatak. He is quite popular among students.

Compared to other private engineering institutes in West Bengal, IEM Kolkata has a better faculty base.

Is there any Difference in faculty, placements, Facilities between CGC Landran & CGC Jhanjeri? If Yes, then which is Better for btech in CSE ?

CS
Chatur Srivastav Posted On : July 16th, 2021
Studied at Chandigarh Engineering College

CGC Landran and CGC Jhanjeri are the same and run by the same management. The faculties of the college are also the same. The placements for both campuses take place at the same time. The students sit together for their placements.

I have a few friends at both institutes and most of them recommend Chandigarh Engineering college Landran campus over Jhanjeri campus because this campus is the oldest, the environment is good, and it is located near to Mohali.

CGC Landran is better in terms of infrastructure and faculty members as well. The CSC department of this college is good. According to the recent placement highlights the average and highest CTC offered at the institutes is 7 LPA and 35 LPA.

Is taking up Automobile Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology a good idea? Are the placements and faculty at the department up to the mark?

AG
Alka Gupta Posted On : September 9th, 2023
Studied at Manipal Institute Of Technology

My friend recently completed his graduation with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical from Manipal. Here is what he shared regarding placements and faculty at MIT Manipal

  • Companies like Daimler, Hero, Toyota, etc. visit the campus but only a handful of them are RnD, few are manufacturing, and most of them are sales, marketing, supply chain management and other non-technical roles.
  • Manipa has many student teams like Formula Manipal, SAE Baja, AeroMIT, etc. that have been consistently performing well at the international level.
  • Many students after completing BTech tend to pursue an MS. Most MIT Manipal alumni got admitted to prestigious foreign universities like Berkeley, UPenn, Cornell, Purdue, UTA, Michigan Tech, UFL, etc. A huge percentage of students go for an MBA.
  • The research culture here is decent enough to ensure the holistic growth of its students.

So, don’t come to MIT Manipal if you are expecting a high package and a RnD job. But if you aren’t sure of your future goals, trust me MIT will help you find them!

Where do private universities (LPU, AMITY or SHARDA) fail compared to IIT or IIM even though they provide all facilities and also claim to have the top foreign faculties?

SB
Shreya Bose Posted On : May 27th, 2021
B. Tech Computer Science, Sharda University (2018)

Having foreign faculties or providing world-class facilities is not the only thing necessary to reach the level of IITs and IIMs. There are several necessary aspects that distinguish such private institutes from elite institutes like IIT and IIM, like -

  • Students at IITs have different levels of educational qualifications.
  • Students of IITs and IIMs are confident to reach heights in their work careers. But, this passion is mostly missing in 90% students in of private colleges
  • Regular students at private institutes are satisfied with Rs. 4-5 LPA packages.
  • Students from IITs usually have excellent depth in mathematics, and in coding.
  • Students from private colleges make several mistakes in their preparation, which affect their entry into institutes like IITs. But, your hard work in college can surely make you successful.
  • Students are even placed in companies like Amazon (Rs. 16 LPA), Adobe (Rs. 8 LPA), Sandisk (Rs. 8.5 LPA), etc.
  • There are some institutes like BITS, VIT, Manipal, Dhirubhai Ambani University, etc, that are excellent institutes, having good faculties and enough resources.
  • Other than those, most private institutes in India are not in good condition.

These are some of the main reasons why such private institutes, though providing excellent infrastructure and faculty, fail to reach the levels of IITs and IIMs.
