What is the difference between the SSC JE and the IES exams?
SSC JE is lower than the entry-level position of IES. The designation of IES is Assistant Executive Engineers.

How tough is IIM Indore IPM program entrance?
Math Section
This section is the trickiest as the given Maths problems are difficult even for the Maths students let alone the nin math students. The key lies in the approach to the question which is not at all easy. The questions can be asked from any topic and from any level. You need to be exceptionally talented at least for this section.
English Section
Try to attempt this section first as the questions are quite lengthy. But this section is comparatively easy, you can surely clear it.

What is difference between SSB, CDSE and AFCAT?
My cousin qualified for the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) exam in 2018 into the AFSB which is an acronym for Air Force candidates. Basically, it is just the first step, including the CDSE which is the short form of the Combined Defence Service Exam. So these exams work as a filter in letting the best candidates come to the surface, these then go to the SSB/AFSB.
Here are some key points on the process-
- Candidates who join the army or navy are termed 'SSB', and those who join the Air Force are called 'AFSB'.
- AFCAT is the exam by and for the Air force when there is a requirement of staff for general duty, technical, flying, logistics, or administration. It is conducted bi-annually in the months of March and August and is the only other mode of entry into the Air force apart from CDSE.
- The process remains the same for all these agencies during the first few days. After clearing the first step, your scores are sent to the headquarters and you'll have to qualify for the PABT test, in case you've chosen the flying branch. Alternatively, you'd have to qualify for a basic knowledge test for the groundwork.
- If you qualify and reach SSB (Service Selection Board), you'll be a participant in another filtration process of which only 80 out of 300 candidates will be selected.
If you wish to become an officer in the three defense forces, you'd have to submit a clearance by SSB or AFSB. If you're selected through the CDSE and NDA, then you'll be given the Permanent commission (PC) and if you have qualified AFCAT, then you'll get selected for Short Service Commission (SSC). Although, sometimes technical and non-technical staff go through the AFCAT only (not through CDSE) and they get through PC.
Note that if you fail PABT, your flying dreams are over, as far as IAF is concerned. So be careful there, you'll need a lot of patience and resilience to go through the process.
What is the eligible criteria for the AFCAT exam?
My brother took the Air Force Common Admission Test, popularly known as AFCAT. It is a tough exam to crack, but the good news is, that it's held twice a year. My brother cracked it in the second attempt and became a part of the Flying Branch. There are two other branches in addition to that: Technical Branch and the Non-Technical Branch with groundwork.
To qualify for this year's AFCAT 2021 exam, you need to know the following:
Educational Qualification:
- To get into the flying branch, you'd need 60% or above in Physics and Maths in 12th; you should pass the BE/BTech level exam and get 60% or above marks in Section A and Section B tests by the Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India).
- For non-technical work, you'd need clear gradation with 60% marks in any field and consecutively qualify the ASI or AMIE exams with 60% as well.
Nationality: Apparently, you can apply only if you're an Indian citizen.
Marital Status:
- This is an important one because either unmarried candidates below the age of 25 or married candidates above the age of 25 are eligible for application, even during the commencement of the course, they must remain so.
- If you're divorced or a widow, you'll be out of the race.
Mental and Physical Fitness:
- To join IAF you must be 162.5 cm. For the non-technical branch, male candidates should be at least 157.5 cm tall, and female candidates should be at least 152 cm tall.
- If you're from the North East, then a 5cm relaxation will be provided.
- The weight will have to be in proportion to your height and mental wellness is an important aspect of the scrutiny as well.
Age Limit:
- It depends on the branch and method of entry, the flying branch takes in students between the ages of 20-25.
- Candidates with a commercial license issued by the DGCA are given a relaxation. For non-technical posts candidates should be between 20-26.
- The upper age limit for flying branch aspirants is 26 years, there is no age relaxation for those interested in non-technical posts.
You won't be allowed to stay with your family during the training period, so keep that in mind. You must keep a check on the notifications which might vary from year to year, also the Testbook is a place for mock tests and resources. So you could use it for studying.
How should I prepare for the GBPUAT UG entrance exam?
To apply for the B.Tech program at GBPUAT, a deep understanding of basic PCM concepts is required from the students.
For the other UG courses, the university organizes a common exam. The multiple areas on which students are tested include- logical reasoning, basic Hindi, basic English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
The examination’s difficulty level is not very high. However, there are only a limited number of seats because of which the final cut-off is high.
More than 90% of the questions can be solved with a thorough reading of the school syllabus (11th and 12th especially). Analytical reasoning and logical questions require basic common sense.
Time Management is very important to keep in mind.
Students who do not belong to Uttarakhand need to seek admission to the UG programs through ICAR’s entrance exam. The top rankers in ICAR’s entrance exam get admission into the university.
Paper Pattern (Other UG Courses)
- Total 200 compulsory questions
- GENERAL APTITUDE, LOGICAL/VERBAL/NON-VERBAL REASONING - 50 questions for students of both PCM and PCB streams
- For PCM students 50 Math questions, For PCB students 50 Biology questions
- Chemistry and Physics, both containing 50 questions each, for students of both PCM and PCB streams
- The exam is of total 600 marks with each question of 3 Marks. There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer.

Is it possible to prepare for BITSAT in 4 months and make it into BITS Hyderabad or score a 350+?
4 months is a decent amount of time to prepare for BITSAT. However, you’ll have to make a proper study routine and stick to it.
I also had just 4 months at hand when I seriously sat down to study for BITSAT. By seriously I mean that by that time I had a fair enough grasp on basic concepts. I studied for long hours and covered the NCERT syllabus thoroughly. I read and reread each chapter, till it stuck in my mind, and regularly practiced mock tests. My mock test scores kept on improving with each practice session.
I had thought I wouldn’t make it into BITS, but I ended up getting BE Mechanical at BITS Hyderabad. So I would recommend you study with diligence and solve mock tests on a regular basis. If not 350+, you’ll definitely score decent enough marks to make it into BITS.

How tough is the M.Com exam conducted by IGNOU?
MCom from IGNOU is very easy as it can be accomplished with minimum efforts. The exams include the entire course either in short notes, long answers, differences, etc. However, the assignments are not that easy. They require a thorough understanding of each topic, and a lot of written work. All in all the level of difficulty of exams is average but the quality of education is not hampered by this.
M.Com from IGNOU is not very difficult and can be actually passed with minimal effort. If you go through the previous year's paper, you will find that the exams are fairly lengthy. Almost the entire course is included in the exams either in the form of short notes, long answers or differences. So you will have to learn a lot. But the level of difficulty is not that high. However, the assignments are not that easy. They require a thorough understanding of each topic and a lot of written work.
The salient feature of IGNOU is to specifically cater to the needs of people who cannot pursue full-time education. Considering this the exams are not very challenging that will become a burden for part-timers.

Is the AFCAT interview difficult?
