Once you have read everything and are ready to write down your answers follow these tips to get exceptionally good marks:

  1. Always write your answers in the Intro, body, and conclusion format.

  2. Attempt all questions and allot enough time to each and every question.

  3. Drawing diagrams wherever required will get you extra points. Flow charts also help score good marks

  4. Highlight the main points and words in your answer by underlining the important phrase. Make sure your copy is neat and clean.

Is it valuable doing MA after Bsc from IGNOU?

RM
Renuka Mahesh Posted On : November 3rd, 2022
MTM from Indira Gandhi National Open University (Graduated 2017)

No, it’s not valuable for someone to go for an MA after graduating from science. Unless you have a specific target or reason behind pursuing PG in arts it’s not recommended at all.

The course you are opting for should have a direct connection with the industry you are planning to enter. Focus on your goal and pursue the program related to that specific field.

People with no specific goals regarding the industry or profession are much more likely to come across such questions. Redefine and recognise your goals and then if it still suits you best, go for PG in arts.

Is it worth leaving a Master's in Public Policy at NLSIU to pursue an MA in Development and Labour Studies at JNU?

PB
Pratik Bahera Posted On : April 6th, 2023
Master's program from Jawaharlal Nehru University (2021)

If you have been contemplating leaving your Master’s in Public Policy program at NLSIU Bangalore to pursue an MA in Development and Labour Studies at JNU, it is not worth it. Here's why:

  • Pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy from a reputed institute like NLSIU Bangalore opens doors to promising and lucrative career opportunities. In comparison, job prospects in Development and Labour Studies are relatively meager.
  • A Master’s in Public Policy program helps you develop a wholesome understanding and a holistic idea of Policy Making. It also allows you to understand the broader spectrum of key issues related to policy-making. In contrast, the MA program in Development and Labour Studies at JNU may not provide a 360º approach towards understanding public issues or cultivate a knack for Policy Making, as this course is primarily focused on issues related to Labour and Trade Unions.
  • There are several reputed Think Tanks in India that offer lucrative and respectful career opportunities to Public Policy Graduates. Some of them are - the Centre for Policy Research, NITI Aayog, Observer Research Foundation, Research Foundation for Governance in India, Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, India Policy Foundation, Indian Institute for Advanced Studies, and so on.

In conclusion, if you are already selected for pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy at NLSIU Bangalore, it is not worth leaving it to pursue an MA in Development and Labour Studies at JNU. Pursuing Public Policy at a reputed institute like NLSIU Bangalore will open doors to lucrative career opportunities and help you develop a wholesome understanding and a holistic idea of Policy Making.

How do I write a good answer in the exam of a Master of Arts English MEG at IGNOU and other universities?

AM
Anu Mehta Posted On : November 3rd, 2022
MA in English Literature & English Literature, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

Here are two of the major points that are helpful in writing a good answer in the exam for an MA in English:

  • The answer must start with an excellent introduction to the writer and the text. Then, there should be good content, sticking to the point. The answer must end with an eminent conclusion.

  • The answer must not be written in a storytelling way. Students are supposed to answer what the question is asking them to explain, the theme, the character, and the point of view attached to the question.

Whatever answer students write, it must be revolving around giving proper reasons, perspectives, and possible central ideas that a question is trying to ask. The answer must not be diverting and stretching, without providing any appropriate conclusion.

M.A. Economics from Central University of Kerala (2017)

The Central University of Kerala is a decent option for pursuing an MA in Economics. The syllabus followed for the course is better than the state universities. The student crowd on campus is decent. You will get to meet people from all over India. The local students are friendly.

The placement opportunities offered at the institute aren’t that good. However, it is getting better gradually.
