How was the IIM Rohtak interview?

SM
Shubham Makhecha Posted On : January 10th, 2023
Bachelor of Architecture from National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (Expected 2024)

My friend once shared his interview experience at IIM Rohtak. He was a General Engineer Male with Acads:9.8/94.4/8.55 Cat: 94.4/71.55/98.5 Overall:96.8 profile.

It was an online interview and the panel comprised a male and a female who made it a very comfortable experience. Before the interview began, he was asked to display the CAT Score card and graduation certificate.

The strange part of the interview was that they did not ask any typical HR questions like an introduction, questions around why MBA, strengths or weaknesses. I have summarized the rest of the interview in points below

  • He was asked to write on "Technologies impact on the job market" for which he was given 30 seconds to prepare.
  • Owing to his Electrical Engineering background, he was asked about AC to DC rectifiers and digital devices.
  • Keeping his Data Science work experience in mind he was inquired about his job role and questions about Supervised and unsupervised learning. They also asked questions about primary and secondary markets
  • He was asked about his hobbies
  • He was from Andhra Pradesh and they asked him about its current government scenario.

My friend was able to answer almost all the questions confidently and the interview ended within 10-12 minutes.

Divya Saraf Posted On : July 11th, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad

My brother recently graduated from IMT Hyderabad and thoroughly enjoyed hai college life there which gave him a plethora of memories. IMT Hyderabad MBA is a highly regarded program and is comparable to other B Schools. Here are a few reasons why he chose it over other reputed B Schools in the country.

  • The institute is located in a remote area away from the hustle and bustle of city life so you get to experience a peaceful college life
  • IMT Hyderabad faculty pool is one of the best in the country and engravings the concepts in you so well that makes learning an interesting job.
  • The accommodation facilities are also great and all basic amenities are provided to the students.
  • The institute focuses on holistic development of its students so academics and extracurriculars are given equal importance.
  • IMT Hyderabad offers the right platform to showcase your talents and skills to the recruiters but does not guarantee placements because it all depends on your performance in the interviews.

So bear in mind that no matter how good an institute is, your career and placements depend on your skills and performance. The institute just renders you a platform and does not guarantee the result.

What institute will be the best for GATE and IES coaching: Made Easy Delhi, ACE Academy Hyderabad, or Gate forum?

NN
Nikhil Nanda Posted On : February 17th, 2021
BAMS FROM Delhi University, 2020

One of my friends used to be a student of ACE Academy. According to her, the ACE Academy study materials are unbeatable for the preparation of competitive examinations like GATE or IES. Their test series is also very challenging.

Before joining ACE Academy, my friend was going through a period, when he didn’t use to concentrate on his studies. Similar to a period, which almost all engineering students go through during their BE/BTech. After joining ACE Academy, he had the opportunity to clear his concept in basics. He ended the course with good command of the subjects.

Faculty:

  • According to my friend, the faculties discuss every minute details of the topic. The teaching methodology employed, is designed by keeping in mind the requirement of the examination.
  • The faculties have years of experience teaching classes for GATE, IES, and PSU.

Lectures:

The lectures are quite helpful in preparing notes properly. Which are more helpful for preparation as compared to books.

Join the classes as early as possible. The course is also completed early. You will have plenty of time to self-study and revise for the examination. For GATE or IES coaching, ACE Academy will be best.

How is the MBA program at Christ University Bangalore ?

SD
Sinjini Dasgupta Posted On : May 26th, 2022
lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Christ University doesn’t have a good faculty base for an MBA. The MBA coursework is constructed poorly. Throughout the course, students are under pressure to complete their CIA, assignments, etc. The scope for hands-on learning is limited.

It has a huge student intake. There are around 400 students in each batch. Christ University MBA placements are average at best. The 2022 placement concluded with the highest CTC of INR 20 LPA.

Is it advisable to go for a new IIM like IIM Jammu and do MBA? It is being mentored by IIM Lucknow so will placement be also mentored by them?

SS
Shivam Singh Posted On : February 13th, 2024
Studied at IIM Jammu

IIM Lucknow mentors IIM Jammu with respect to faculty, curriculum and pedagogy. IIM Jammu and IIM Lucknow have almost the same teachers, barring a few. Moreover, the pedagogy and curriculum of both these colleges is the same. But IIM Lucknow does not extend its mentorship in case of IIM Jammu placements.

The crowd of new IIMs is really good. The students from IIM Jammu are tough opponents for IIM A B C students in various competitions. IIM Jammu has a student exchange program that offers meritorious students to complete a trimester at a European university. The placements of IIM Jammu are equal to other baby IIMs.

IIM Jammu carries the prestigious ‘IIM’ tag which has a high value in the industry. I would recommend you join IIM Jammu for your MBA.

What is it like to major in Aerospace Engineering at IIT Bombay?

AT
Adwait Tejas Posted On : March 18th, 2023
studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2021)

There is a course called CS207 Discrete Structures taught by Professor Ajit Diwan. It was related to Discrete Mathematics - Number Theory, Graph Theory, Combinatorics, Sets, and Groups, and was one of the most difficult courses my friend came across.

Professor Diwan is well known for his highly challenging problems and course material. During his lectures, he delivers a lot of information based on principles. For math lovers, his classes are an absolute delight.

He refrains from conducting more than one exam a month. However, the level of difficulty of the exam is high. The questions look very complicated but when one ponders upon them, they don’t seem that difficult.

The exams were extremely difficult to the extent that the passing cutoff was 7 out of 100 marks. Despite the entire batch consisting of JEE toppers, a lot of them were not able to make it to the cutoff.
