The simple answer to your question is no, the new HR programs of IIM Ranchi, NMIMS, or XIMB are not at par with the established ones XLRI, TISS, MDI, and SCMHRD. The established programs especially that of XLRI are the epitome of HR programs. They cannot be compared to the new ones at any given level or parameter.
Now one can say that the curriculum can be replicated and learned faculty can be sought to match the quality of the HR program at these institutes. But the truth is faculty and curriculum are the main but not the only factors that determine an institute's worth. Its own culture, ethics, and background have a lot to do with the programs it offers.
So one cannot match XLRIs programs no matter how much they try.
Summer internships are part of the curriculum at XIMB and are graded with a certain number of credits. So, it is necessary for every student to do a summer internship compulsorily. Thus it is made sure by the institute itself that every student gets an internship for the summers. So, it is entirely false that XIMB does not have 100% summer internship placements. Some students do find better offers than given in the campus placements and thus they opt out of the process. Otherwise, placements are handled by the institute itself.
Also, do not think of summer internships as final placements. You may not get an internship at a reputed company, but you will get an internship for sure. Final placements are a whole different game than summer placements. There have been instances where students who have done internships at smaller companies have landed top jobs during final placements. So, it actually matters less which company you did an internship for, rather grades, business acumen is more important for final placements. You should focus on studies, participating in business school competitions to hone your skills and you will definitely do well in your placements.
Having friends in both institutions, I suggest you to go NMIMS Mumbai. XIMB HR has recently switched their name from XIMB to XaHR. This cost them a lot in terms of placements. All of the companies, instead of reaching out to XIMB are showing up at NMIMS Mumbai boosting their demand day by day.
If I were to compare both the colleges based on certain parameters, I would say:

Some of my friends who were on the wait-list of XIMB decided to switch to NMIMS eventually. And some of them withdrew their names from the wait-list just to reach other colleges (these were in the lower-tier) but not XIMB. Even the students who are already studying at XIMB advise others to not reach there.
Strictly speaking, for the year 2021-23, the total course fee including the hostel charges comes out to be INR 20,67,000 excluding the mess charges for the MBA in Business Management (MBA-BM) course at XIMB Bhubaneswar.
The decision to spend these 22 Lakhs in two years is worth it, if you do not fall in any of these categories.
Now, if you do not fall in the above two categories, then XIMB Bhubaneswar is a very good option. Some of the reasons for the same are –
The institute attracts many top companies to its campus for recruitment.

Thus, XIMB Bhubaneswar is really a very good institute that will propel your career if you have the interests and do your work properly.
XIMB is a good college but if you are willing to retake the CAT, you have a good chance of getting into a tier 1 college. In the long run, a tier 1 college makes a significant difference in terms of brand name, association, peers, and a strong alumni network.
One of my friends re-took the CAT exam. He mentioned some important factors you could focus on:
It seems that you have a good profile. You haven't mentioned anything about your work experience. Assuming you are a recent graduate, It is suggested that you get a job.
However, If you believe that your performance was unsatisfactory, you still have a full year to improve.
In terms of converting XIMB Bhubaneswar or any B-school for that matter, it is the same. If someone has cracked it in his/her first attempt, then cracking XIMB would be easier. If someone has gone through the entire selection process multiple times without success, then it would be a herculean task.
These are certain tips for personal interview (PI) preparation that may or may not work for everybody. Ultimately, converting XIMB Bhubaneswar is in your hands and how well you put yourself.
XUB is not exactly different from XIMB. XUB comprises more schools like
In addition there are several PG courses like MBF and it now even offers graduation in Science. Despite the variety of courses offered, the primary focus is MBA. While at XIMB the only course offered is MBA.
Both the campuses are well built far from the city saving them from hectic city traffic. XUM still has some buildings under construction. Excellent food and transport facilities make them a more attractive choice.
Of the two, XIMB was established earlier so enjoys more brand name and value than XUB. XIMB value can be determined through All India Rankings which is not possible in the case of XUB.
IIMs are any day better option for you when compared to XIMB or any other B-Schools in India. You will only spend two years of your studies there but if you focus on the long run, you are the alumni of the institute forever.
Many international guest faculties visit the campus to give you global business exposure. This doesn't mean that XIMB is a bad option, but it's just that any IIM is better among the two.
There are few points worth mentioning:
At the end of the day, it's your decision to opt for the best for your future. Do consider this point of view and make a wise decision.
One of my friends pursued BTech from a renowned IIT and even had work experience when he got an offer from IIM Nagpur. He wasn’t sure if joining it would be worth it but a few months into the college made him realize that it was one of the best decisions of his life. He claimed that the following points convinced him to join IIM Nagpur
I have seen many people forgoing offers from XIMB-BM, IIM Kashipur, IIM Indore- Mumbai campus VGSOM and all the newest IIMs to join IIM Nagpur. Its fast-paced growth and promising placement opportunities are the main reasons for the same. So I think IIM Nagpur is way better than XIMB.
If I was in your place, I would have gone for NMIMS. Operation profiles are usually offered in these 3 industries.
Comparing these industries, you will find NMIMS as the best option. There are many big companies from these industries that visit NMIMS like
All in all, the top recruiters combined with locational advantage, industry relations, and broad career prospects make NMIMS the better option of the two.
