IIEST Shibpur is the 2nd oldest engineering college in India. It is ranked 43 overall and 21 for BTech by NIRF 2020. It is approved by AICTE having a student population of over 4000 students.

CSE in VIT Vellore is offered as a 4 year BTech and a 2 year MTech program. VIT Vellore has its place in Limca Book of Records. It is ranked 28 overall and 15 for BTech by NIRF 2020.

Both Neotia University and Brainwave University are private universities that are recognized by UGC and AICTE. Neotia University offers 49 courses across 9 streams.

Both the colleges are good. Many facilities are available on both campuses. However, the selection of the college depends on the feasibility, vision, and goals of an individual.

It was also awarded the title of 'Best Emerging Private University in India' by Praxis Media Private Limited. Brainware University is a private college situated in Kolkata. The University is approved by UGC, AIU, and DSIR and has been recognized by PCI, BCI, and WBNC. It has been ranked 67th based on faculty and placements. It offers B.Tech, B.Pharm, BA, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, and B.Com courses at the UG level.

Computer Science Engineering at Brainware University

Admission: 

• The basic eligibility criteria for admission to CSE at Brainware University 60% in class 10 examinations and 55% in class 12 examinations.
• The selection criteria for B. Tech in CSE at this university are required to qualify for the WBJEE examinations along with JEE Mains and must have secured 45% marks in PCM for the class 12th examination

Infrastructure:

Computer Science Engineering at Neotia University

Admission:

• The eligibility criteria for B. Tech in CSE is that the candidate has to have 60% marks in PCM for the class 12th examination
• The selection criteria are that the applicant must pass the TNU exam that is conducted by the university itself. Also, students need to qualify for the WBJEE exam

Fees: The course fee for CSE at Neotia University is 140,000 (first-year fee) and a grand total of 4.52 Lakhs.

Placement:

Anyone having any confusion has to which of the two is the best must-have got a clear idea of it by now for the above-mentioned comparisons.

It’s difficult to determine which institute is better. However, given below are information about the colleges which may help you make the decision.

Ranking:

• Nirma University: The college was ranked among the top 100 institutions in the country by NIRF in the academic year 2018.
• NIT Patna: The college was ranked as 134th by NIRF among top engineering colleges of India in the year 2019. 

Admission & Eligibility:

• Nirma University: For M.Tech in computer science engineering they need to be graduated and secure at least 55% in graduation apart from that they need to give the GATE exam.
• NIT Patna: To secure admissions in the college a candidate should get at least 50% in graduation and should appear for GATE exam.

Faculty:

• Nirma University: For almost every subject the faculty of the college provides a tutorial and a theory class.
• NIT Patna: The faculties are well qualified and have vast experience in both the terms, research, and even projects. 

Placements:

• Nirma University: The highest CTC that was offered was Rs.16.6 LPA and the average CTC that was recorded was 8.2 LPA. The top recruiting companies that visited the college were: - Infosys, Tata Motors, Amul, Amazon, Bajaj Alliance, Larsen and Toubro, Daiken, and Bajaj Auto.
• NIT Patna: In the year 2019, there were a total of 80 students available for placements in Computer science & Engineering, out of which all of them were selected. There were a total of 93 job offers from the company. The highest package went up to INR 39.2 LPA and the average package went up to INR 7.42 LPA.

Therefore, if a choice has to be made, one can look at the different parameters mentioned above.

BTech at SGSITS ranks between 201-250 in the NIRF Rankings, while Amity University stands firm at 165. The total courses at Amity University Gwalior are 89, out of which 11 courses are from BTech. SGSITS is primarily known for its Engineering, and 14 out of 45 courses are from the same.

Eligibility:

Amity University Gwalior-

• To be eligible for BTech CSE, a student must have 60% from CBSE or equivalent with Amity JEE Entrance Exam scores.

SGSITS Indore-

• To be eligible for CSE in BTech/BE at SGSITS Indore, an applicant must have 10+2 with 75% and JEE Main scores.
• The seats for CSE is 90 (out of which 5 belongs to NRI)

Amity University Gwalior-

Students get the following merit-based scholarships for the following minimum scores in 12th std in CBSE/ISC/State Boards-

SGSITS Indore-

There are two merit-based scholarships-

1. MP Merit Scholarship Scheme- If a student has more than 75% in 12th std, he gets INR 125 PM.
2. Scholarship for students for the minor community- If a student belongs to a minority of Muslim/Sikh/Budha/Parsi/Christian, he gets INR 20000 PA against the fee and an INR 5000 scholarship

Placements:

Amity University Gwalior-

• The placement rate for CSE at Amity University Gwalior is 100%.
• The highest package in BTech of INR 7.50 lakhs is also bagged by CSE students by Tata Consultancy Services.
• This was followed by the package of INR 6.60 lakhs by Tek Systems Global Services Pvt Ltd.
• The average package and median package for BTech were INR 3.30 lakhs and INR 3 lakhs respectively.
• The chief recruiters include Bajaj Electricals Ltd, Posco, Bausch & Lomb, Bank of America, American Express, Ernst & Young, Reliance Industries Limited, Adobe, TCS, etc.

SGSITS Indore-

• The placement sessions at SGSITS were tremendous in the year 2019-20 with a placement percentage of 90% in CSE.
• The highest package was INR 22 lakhs by Goldman Sachs, followed by INR 20 lakhs by Nuclei.
• The average package is INR 7 lakhs.
• Many companies also offered internships to students in their sixth semester with a minimum stipend of INR 40,000. The highest stipend was by Goldman Sachs of INR 1 lakh after the internship.
• The other prominent recruiters include Deloitte, Amazon, Capgemini, Wipro, Infosys, Addverb, Idea-Vodafone, Quatiphi, etc.

CSE in BE/BTech from SGSITS Indore is any day better than Amity University Gwalior in all the above-mentioned horizons. The cutoff is difficult to crack for SGSITS Indore. However, the placement is worth it and almost three times from CSE at Amity University Gwalior. The fees are also less and thus SGSITS Indore is a better option.

Punjab Engineering College University(PEC) and MNNIT offer various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various streams. According to NIRF Engineering ranking 2020, PEC stands at 68th position, MNNIT grabs an impressive 48th rank. The highest package offered at PEC was 42 LPA and 36 LPA at MNNIT. The mode of entrance exam remains the same for both the colleges that are JEE mains for undergraduates and GATE for postgraduates.

Cutoff:

• For CS at PEC the required cutoff is 21181-40237.

• At MNNIT 3133-4986 is the required cutoff for IT.

Facilities:

• PEC has 4 hostels for boys and 2 for girls, a central library consisting of a bound volume of books, more than 10 clubs, and publishes a yearly magazine(articles contributed by the students).

• MNNIT offers students a home-like atmosphere that includes facilities like 24*7 canteen facilities, student clubs, guest rooms, books, and stationery shops.

Course fee:

Both colleges have prepared an affordable fee structure for students. Scholarships are also offered to students with excellent academics, poor economical background, and female students.

Faculty:

• PEC has experienced faculties in all its departments. There are a total of 139 faculty members.

• MNNIT has a good number of Ph.D. faculties experienced in particular fields. The institute consists of a good number of associate professors.

Placements:

PEC Chandigarh:

• The highest package offered at PEC is INR 42 LPA and the average package is INR 6 LPA.

• Some of the recruiting companies include Infosys, Capgemini, Amazon, Wipro, TCS.

Training and development cell helps the students to prepare themselves for the upcoming placement.

MNNIT:

• A total of 792 students were placed at MNNIT.

• The highest package offered was INR 36.6 LPA and the median package was INR 4 LPA.

• A total of 285 companies visited the college.

Both colleges have well-developed research labs. Different scholarships are offered to the students at PEC that include economically weaker sections/women's/students with disabilities, one student of each branch for its academic excellence, and a half-free ship on tuition fee. MNNIT offers a similar scholarship as PEC. Students need to decide which branch they would prefer, before selecting the college. Both the colleges do have impressive placement, ranking, faculty, facilities, and a lot more.

By NIRF, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is ranked 101-150 band and by India Today, 2nd among Private Engineering College (East Zone) whereas out of 300, NIRF has ranked Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology at 250.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT):

Admission:

• The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in CSE.

• The selection criteria for B.Tech is based on a valid score in JEE/MET/SMIT offline test while for M.Tech it is based on a valid score in GATE/ Screening Test/ Manipal University Entrance Test.

• The eligibility required for B.Tech is 10+2 with at least 50% marks and for the reserved category 45%. M.Tech requires a minimum of 55% marks in graduation and 50% for the reserved category.

Placements:

The institute has retained the consistency of 90% placements. This is achieved due to the presence of a training and placement department that provides training to the students as well as arrange final semester projects in distinct industries.

• From the 2020 batch, till 2019 more than 80% of students were already placed in renowned companies such as Dell, Microsoft, Shell. Nomura, Wipro, Ericsson.

• The highest package offered is INR 18 LPA and an average package of INR 4.95 LPA is offered.

The institute offers scholarship schemes and the student can avail only one type of scholarship.

Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology:

Admission:

• The institute offers a B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering

As financial assistance, MSIT provides scholarships to only meritorious students of INR 13,000 annually based on their performance and a reduction in the fees up to INR 50,000 for the students from economically weak backgrounds.

Both MSIT and Sikkim Manipal offer good CSE programs with decent placement opportunities. So choose according to your convenience.
