How many subjects do we have to choose in BA for IGNOU?

AP
Ajay Pandey Posted On : October 17th, 2022
B.A Political Science & pub ad from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

A student should take no more than 96 credits in BA (applicable for every subject).

To obtain a major in any subject, a student must have a total of 48 credits in that subject, which equates to 6 papers of 8 credits taken over three years. (2 papers per year)

The remaining 48 credits are divided as follows:

  • In the first and second years, compulsory papers BSHF 101 and FST 01, each worth 8 credits.

  • Students in their second year are required to take one elective course in addition to the compulsory course and the subject in which they are majoring.

  • Applied Courses are for third-year students, and they can be taken for 8 or 16 credits.

  • Students may take any subject from Group 1 to Group A1 in addition to Group A1.

As a result, the number of subjects taken each year is determined by the number of credits a student takes. If a 4-credit subject is chosen, the student should take two 4-credit papers for a total of 8 credits, increasing the number of papers.

How good are the placements at Cluster Innovation Center DU?

PT
Pranjal Tiwari Posted On : October 6th, 2022
Studied at Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi

As much as I could gather information from a friend studying in Cluster Innovation Center, it is apparent that the on-campus placement cell is not effective enough to get every student placed in a good company with a better salary. The administration does not invite enough companies. The faculty emphasizes innovation over students chasing after corporate careers. Thus, the placement rates on campus are low.

CIC, however, offers two potential advantages. Its large batch sizes and robust network. According to government norms and regulations, there are only 40 students permitted into it. Therefore, everyone is engaged in useful endeavors. This college's alumni are forming a powerful network. The majority of them have good jobs or are enrolled in college. Students have achieved success in math, management studies, coding, and even in starting respectable businesses of their own. Few students succeed in GSoC each year.

What is your review of Dalhousie University (Nova Scotia)?

SR
Saheli Roy Posted On : January 13th, 2021
M.S. Masters in Embedded Systems, Royal Institute of Technology (2020)

Not only is Dalhousie an old university but also has a lot of different class options to suit your needs. The city of Halifax is also very nice and easy to navigate. With a lot of different schools, colleges and universities around, you will have no shortage of things to do if you are fond of art and music.
The classes are enjoyable and their size after the initial year is pretty reasonable as well. Almost all the facilities have great staff and the professors are always there for your help if you need them.
Diversity wise too Dalhousie is a great place and specially diverse for international students.
Dalhousie University is academically the best as you get out of it what you put into it. It has good professors, a beautiful campus and a great location in a small but vibrant city. Dalhousie has a wonderful environment to study and play. It has a great pool and sports center called the sportsplex. Halifax has more part-time job opportunities and fewer full-time jobs and the pay scale is lower and the tax is higher.

Dalhousie University has been ranked #291 by QS World University Rankings 2021. QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 has ranked Dalhousie University #301-500 and it has an employment rate of 84%.

Dalhousie University is known for many leading programs like Arts & Humanities, Clinical, pre-clinical & health, Engineering & Technology, Life sciences, Physical sciences, Social sciences, and Business & Economics.

Average Salaries of Dalhousie University Graduates and Alumni 2020:

Dalhousie University is one of the renowned in Canada. It has a lot of international students which gives diversity on campus, there are a lot of research and internship opportunities. Students can get up to $40,000 in financial aid via different Scholarships. So, it is the potential choice as it has an overall good score in every field.

How is NIT Agartala in terms of academics, hostels, facilities, studies and placements?

SM
Spandita Majumder Posted On : September 18th, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Agartala (2019)

NIT Agartala is quite old and was established in 1965 as Tripura Engineering College. As a student of this institution, here are my honest reviews of it-

  • Academics- The college offers average academics, but research facilities are lacking. But like other central government colleges, it receives good funding. The faculty is below average and students mostly depend on self-study. CSE, ECE, EE, ME, and CIVIL are good branches that you can opt for at this institution. The curriculum is at par with top institutions.
  • Hostels and Facilities- The facilities are top-notch. Libraries are well-maintained with one being a completely digital library. Workshops and labs are well-equipped and have virtual class facilities. NITA hosts a supercomputer, and ISRO established an innovation incubation centre on campus. The college has good wifi and sports facilities. The hostels are quite good but the mess food is below average.
  • Location and Connectivity- Agartala is a developed but remote city. Air is the main means of connectivity because rail connectivity is quite poor. NITA is in a remote area, 23 kilometers away from the city, but buses, autos and vans are available.
  • Placement- CSE placements are average, but this is not the case with other branches. Because of its remote location, the college is visited by few companies. IT companies like Infosys, IBM, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. visit for mass recruitments. Product-based IT companies like Samsung, Oracle, Info Edge, etc. also hire students. Non-IT companies like MuSigma, L&T, Kirloskar, Vedanta, etc. are also seen during the placement season. PSUs visit towards the end of the placement season. Just the top students can expect to be offered placements.

Overall, NIT Agartala is a good college with low placements. Based on this information, you can decide whether or not to opt for it.

How is NIT Agartala in terms of academics, hostels, facilities, studies, and placements?

SG
Sugandhi Garg Posted On : October 3rd, 2022
Studied Computer Science at National Institute of Technology, Agartala

NIT Agartala is a decent option in terms of academics, hostel, facilities, studies, and placements. Academics are decent. But there aren’t many chances for research. Professors are well-experienced and supportive but most of the time you need to depend on self-study.

Being a Central Govt. college, NITA offers good facilities. The departmental library, workshops, and laboratories are well-equipped. It offers virtual class facilities. ISRO has an innovation incubation center on the campus of NITA.

The institute has a decent placement record. According to the recent highlights of NIT Agartala placements, the highest and average CTC offered was INR 36 LPA, and 5 LPA, respectively.
