Can I expect to get into CSE in Sikkim Manipal University (Sikkim branch) with a rank of 19500?

JS

SMIT cutoff for CSE stays around 19000. So, you will have a good chance of getting CSE. Even if you don’t get CSE, during the first round of counseling, you will have a good chance of getting admission during the waiting list counseling. Students applying for the Sikkim campus are less in number, so you have a good chance of getting admission.

Is studying CSE in MNNIT, Allahabad through the DASA scheme worth it?

NY
Nisha Yadav Posted On : April 30th, 2021
MNNIT (2016)

When computer science was first introduced in India as a course to pursue, it was launched in only two colleges namely, IIT (Kharagpur or Kanpur) and MNNIT Allahabad.

It was a five years course in the former while in the latter it was a four-year course.  Therefore it can be said that the first batch to launch in the market was from MNNIT Allahabad.

CSE in MNNIT Allahabad is the best branch among all the branches. The reason is stated below:

  • Good placement: In the placement drive 2020, 96.42% of students out of 168 eligible students got placed from the department which stood just after the IT department. The average package is the highest from the CSE department which is 18.02 lakhs per annum. The highest CTC offered was 39.002 lakhs which is the same as the ECE department and is the highest among all other departments.
  • The coding culture here is very good.
  • The faculty is quite good and friendly. Also, you will get a competitive peer group.
  • Ragging is not tolerated in the institution.

Hope it helps to get an idea about the CSE branch of the institute.

Which is better for CSE, BVRIT or GRIET?

MG
Meghomala Ghose Posted On : April 23rd, 2021
Studied at Padmasri Dr. B.V. Raju Institute of Technology

BVRIT (BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women) is clearly better than GRIET for CSE students. There is not any significant difference between the two in terms of teaching and pedagogy as the syllabus is more or less the same for every technical college in the Hyderabad region.

The number of students in a typical CSE branch is way much more than that of IT in BVRIT. The faculty are also top-notch and know what they are teaching very well. Yes, of course, there might some very orthodox and traditional teachers who might not inspire students and do not adapt according to the changing market conditions, but these types of professors are lower in number here.

In the end, more than the college, it is your own self-determination that will make you a successful person. A facility with good internet connectivity, self-learning, and competitive coding culture is all you need to succeed at any of the two colleges.

What is better, CBIT IT or GRIET CSE?

AS
Anupama Sen Posted On : April 23rd, 2021
Studied at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology

B.Tech in Information Technology from CBIT is any day better than a Computer Science and Engineering degree from GRIET. The reason is that the CBIT IT branch has better placements than that of a GRIET CSE branch.

Placements: (Winning Institute - CBIT)

  • We know that placements are one of the biggest factors in choosing a college and in that regard CBIT is a much better choice even though GRIET is not bad.
  • Many top companies such as Microsoft visit both campuses and offer comparable high annual compensation.
  • However, the companies usually recruit more students in the higher compensation packages at CBIT. So, your chances of securing the dream job are relatively easier at CBIT than at GRIET.

The average placements hover in the INR 6 LPA to INR 12 LPA range at CBIT for IT and CSE branches with the lowest package of close to INR 3.5 LPA. There are also a lot more MNCs coming to the CBIT campus than that of the GRIET campus.

Course Fee:

The only area where GRIET zooms ahead of CBIT is in the case of the program fee. For CBIT it is now INR 2.2 lakhs for the management quota students while it is only between INR 1 lakhs to 1.5 lakhs for GRIET.

You should choose CBIT as it offers better placements.

Among these two, CVR is better for CSE. It has a dedicated faculty base. The institute has an active placement cell. The cell gets ample funding from the college management. It also has a better alumni network.

During CVR College of Engineering placements 2021, students received the highest CTC of INR 30.50 LPA. Oracle GBU, Amazon SDE, Adobe, were the major recruiters in the placement drive.

Where should I enroll, NIT Surathkal (mining engineering) or PES University (computer science)?

AS
Aditi Sinha Posted On : May 11th, 2022
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2022)

There is no clear winner in this comparison. If you are interested in Mining Engineering and want to learn fundamental and core technicalities, then NIT Surathkal will be better. As an institute, NITK is better than other engineering colleges in Karnataka. It offers better academics, exposure, facilities, and campus life. For Mining, NIT Surtahkal placements are great. Coal India visits NITK for recruiting students. The average CTC received by the students of this bench is INR 5-6 LPA.

But if you aren’t particularly interested in Mining Engineering, then you should choose CSE at PES University. In the current industry landscape, CSE offers better placements with cushy salary packages.

What should I choose between MNNIT Allahabad CS or IIIT Hyderabad ECE?

AG
Ashwani Gupta Posted On : March 21st, 2022
Electronics and Communication Engineer, NIT Allahabad

IIIT Hyderabad ECE will be a better option. It offers better facilities and opportunities compared to MNNIT Allahabad.

  • The student intake for IIITH ECE is around 90, while the MNNIT Allahabad CS batch size is around 160-180. So, you will face less competition at IIITH.
  • IIIT Hyderabad CSE average package is INR 20 LPA, according to the recent placement highlights.
  • Located in Hyderabad, it has a huge locational advantage. Hyderabad is an electronic city and it houses more than 1300 IT and ITES firms. These firms recruit more than 407,000 individuals each year. So, you will have great exposure.

Due to the locational advantage and the exposure, IIIT Hyderabad ECE will be a better option.
