Currently, which would be a better choice, IMS BHU, AIIMS Bhopal or AIIMS Jodhpur?

My sister got selected for all the 3 aforementioned institutes and was confused for a long time before making her final decision. She weighed the pros and cons of all the 3 institutes; IMS BHU, AIIMS Bhopal, and AIIMS Jodhpur, and realized that IMS BHU has the benefit of internal PG reservation but was very lacking in terms of hostel facilities. That was a factor she wasn't willing to overlook so she looked upon AIIMS Bhopal and got to know about its fast-paced development and excellent hostel facilities.

Here is a glimpse of the medical college

This is the AIIMS Bhopal hostel that provides well-furnished single rooms to its students.

AIIMS Bhopal

AIIMS Bhopal seemed to be the most promising option for her and she was excited to experience the freedom there and ended up choosing it. As for you, you can consider your proximity to home as a crucial determining factor. If you hail from UP, IMS BHU can be a suitable choice for you else AIIMS Bhopal and Jodhpur are excellent options.

Which is best, AIIMS Jodhpur or JIPMER Pondicherry?

My answer is specifically for the UG students. In my opinion, JIPMER Pondicherry is a better option than AIMS Jodhpur. It's one of the oldest Indian medical colleges. Let's go through a few pros and cons of the institute to explain further why this will prove to be a better option for you.

Pros

  • The first year strengthens your basics before providing a real-life clinical experience. This helps the students to understand things excellently.
  • Nd year students are introduced to clinics in one of the Apex hospitals of South India. The OPD flow is around 8-9000 here. You are given respect here even as a second-year student.
  • The third year witnesses the biggest academic, cultural, and sports fests of South India. This fest helps you meet medical students from all over the country and also improves your social skills.to take case histories daily. You will receive continuous guidance from the faculty and senior residents.
  • Internships at JIPMER give you hand on experience which most medical colleges fail to offer. A few tasks you will be assigned are taking blood samples, putting central lines, correcting hydroceles, catheterizing, and doing real-life CPR
  • Pondicherry is a good place to take a break from studies and explore. It has amazing eateries
  • The hostel life at JIPMER is that of freedom and privacy.
  • JIPMER also has the benefit of a PG quota

Cons

  • You will face a huge language barrier in Pondicherry to overcome which you will have to learn Tamil.
  • The food served in the mess is average.
  • The local airport provides a single flight only so you have to travel to Chandigarh while going home.

Any smart person can point out that the pros clearly overshadow the cons and thus we can say that while AIIMS Jodhpur is fast growing, it will take some time to match the level of top medical colleges like JIPMER, PGI, and AIIMS Delhi.

Studying mbbs from AIIMS, Jodhpur

Fully developed is a very generic word. Fully developed in terms of what? Well, AIIMS Jodhpur is fully developed in terms of both academics and infrastructure.

  • All the labs and lecture theatres are equipped with modern technology and devices.
  • All the departments, including some super specialty departments, are functional.
  • The faculty is very experienced and some are alumni of prestigious institutes like AIIMS Delhi, AFMC, KGMU, and many other foreign universities.
  • Students are encouraged to work on various research projects.
  • The hostel facilities are excellent with a central mess serving nutritious food.
  • The institute gives equal importance to sports and has amazing sports facilities like the newly built sports complex
  •  A gym and student activity center were also inaugurated recently to improve the quality of campus life here.
  • The institute provides out-patient and in-patient services at a very low rate making it easier for people from financially weak backgrounds.
  • The trauma and emergency department provide 24/7 services.

Considering the exponential growth of AIIMS Jodhpur in the past few years after its establishment, it will certainly break records in the future.

Which is better, AIIMS Jodhpur or KGMU Lucknow?

SD
Sagar Dikshit Posted On : September 25th, 2023

KGMU has always been a very attractive option for medical aspirants.

It has a good infrastructure and reputation. It is considered as the best medical college in UP. I don’t have much idea about AIIMS Jodhpur, but it is considered the best after Delhi. Personally though, I consider AIIMS Rishikesh a better choice due to its pleasant location.

Recently, the UP government has passed a compulsory bond for UGs and PGs. It is a compulsory 2 years rural posting bond. This is a huge drawback in choosing KGMU Lucknow. The rural posting will be a difficult time, and you won’t learn much from it. There are safety concerns as well.

For your MBBS, you should choose between the two based on personal preference. But I would recommend you go for AIIMS Jodhpur.

What should be the order of preference of colleges among VMMC, LHMC, and AIIMS Bhopal/Jodhpur?

TA

Selecting the right order of preferences is very crucial during counseling, otherwise, you will end up losing an opportunity to study at a good college. I won’t be specifying any order of preference rather will guide you to the same.

  • Affiliation: VMMC is affiliated with IP, LHMC is affiliated with DU and AIIMS is a central government institute.
  • PG Reservation: VMMC has an internal PG reservation, LHMC has a PG reservation within DU-affiliated medical while AIIMS has no PG reservation at all.
  • Infrastructure: The infrastructure of all the colleges is at the same level except LHMC because of being extremely old.
  • Academics:  Academically, all the aforementioned institutes are similar and there are no major differences.
  • College life: Located in Delhi, VMMC and LHMC offer slightly better city life than other institutes. No doubt Jodhpur and Bhopal are also big cities but cannot be compared to the urban life of Delhi. Delhi has many places to explore and great eateries also.

Based on the above points, make your own order of preference. Determine your priorities and then rank the colleges as per your needs.

Which AIIMS should I prefer, Jodhpur or Bhopal?

BG
Bidita Guha Posted On : August 25th, 2022
MBBS in AIIMS, Jodhpur

You should prefer AIIMS Jodhpur. It offers better academics and teaching. The college location is good, it's hardly 2-3 km from the city. AIIMS Jodhpur has a computerized patient management system which makes it easier to conduct research in OPD and IPD settings. Among the new AIIMS, it has the maximum number of PG seats.

Spots facilities of the campus are top notch. There are separate grounds for football and cricket, 2 basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, 2 hockey grounds, 3 tennis courts, and the indoor games facilities are good as well.

Why is it so common to prefer AIIMS Jodhpur over AIIMS Rishikesh in UG counseling?

KR
Kartik Rajput Posted On : June 10th, 2023
Lives in Rishikesh

Both AIIMS Jodhpur and AIIMS Rishikesh have been established in the same year and thus their academics, infrastructure and facilities are somewhat similar. Yet, many people prefer AIIMS Jodhpur to Rishikesh due to the following reasons.

  • The academics at AIIMS Jodhpur are a notch better than AIIMS Rishikesh. One of the major highlights is the UNconvential Learning Experience (UNCLE) and Integrated Classrooms wherein many departments give clinical insight together.
  • AIIMS Jodhpur has a more challenging exam pattern. The breakdown is MCQs of 25% of total marks and subjective questions of 75% of total marks. This pattern is followed in all end-semester and professional examinations.
  • The city life provided by Jodhpur is another reason why people prefer it to Rishikesh which is just a tourist place. Connectivity-wise also, Jodhpur is better.

So many may not agree on the differences between the 2 institutes but the higher AIIMS Jodhpur cutoff than AIIMS Rishikesh proves the point.

Sir will it be good to opt AIIMS Jodhpur or Rishikesh if I get 674 marks in neet over Seth GS or GMC Mumbai?

Trust me there is no right answer to your question as the choice of the institute is a matter of personal inclinations and goals. However here are a few points you would like to consider before selecting your college

  • Academically, the quality of education and the research facilities available are similar in all the aforementioned institutes and so you choosing one over the other will not compromise your education.
  • The primary factor should be location. Here there are 2 things to consider proximity to your home and the kind of college life you want. If you want a tranquil and calm life go for AIMS Rishikesh but if you are a city lover, go for Seth GS.
  • Infrastructure-wise, AIIMS definitely gives an edge to Seth GS. The modern campus, with top-notch equipment and hostel facilities, offers a more comfortable and modern college life than an old institute like Seth GS.
  • Being a central institute, AIIMS offers more exposure to diverse cultures and a mixed student body.
  • AIIMS Rishikesh follows a total MCQ exam pattern making it easier for NEET PG preparation.
  • The most lucrative aspect of AIIMS is the tag associated with it. You will forever be honored for being a part of an institute of national importance.
  • There is no bond policy in AIIMSwhereas Seth GS has one.

Now it depends on you to decide which factor attracts you and which factor you are ready to overlook. Once you have weighed all points only then you can arrive at a wise decision.
