DilapidatedDiary Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

As an MBA student at IIT Delhi, I’ve seen firsthand how lucrative the job offers can be. The majority of my batch received offers with in-hand salaries that range significantly, but the median package is around 25 lakhs. Companies like Accenture and BCG have offered internships with about 1 to 2 lakhs per month, which is a great indicator of the salaries we can expect after graduation. The placement record is stellar, and I feel well-prepared for the corporate world.

The total cost for B.Tech Mathematics and Computing at IIT Delhi is around ?1,00,000 per semester for tuition fees. So, if you do the math for four years, it adds up to ?8,00,000. Keep in mind that this amount can vary slightly due to government policies. Luckily, there are various scholarships available, so if your family's income is low, you might be eligible for some financial help. Trust me, the experience here is worth every penny!

How do the placements really compare between IIT Delhi B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering and IIT Kharagpur B.Tech Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering?

V
VaguelyVelvet Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Industrial & Production Engineering offers a vibrant campus life with numerous fests and a supportive faculty-student ratio, making it a great place for holistic development. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering also boasts a strong curriculum with timely assessments, but it seems to emphasize a slightly more competitive environment. Both colleges have impressive placement records, but IIT Delhi appears to attract more high-profile companies like Google and Microsoft, which could lead to higher packages. Personally, I would lean towards IIT Delhi for its overall student experience and opportunities, especially if you're keen on a well-rounded education and networking. If you're more inclined towards a rigorous technical environment, IIT Kharagpur might be a better fit.

ZenZucchini Posted On : April 2nd, 2026

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a robust curriculum with abundant internship opportunities from top companies like Amazon and Google, which can lead to high-paying job placements. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering, while unique, may not have the same breadth of job prospects in a tech-driven market. The internship training at IIT Delhi by industry experts further enhances employability, making it a more favorable option for students looking to maximize their career outcomes. If you're leaning towards a career in tech, go for IIT Delhi; however, if you have a strong passion for naval architecture, IIT Kharagpur could be your choice.

The faculty here is top-notch, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 6:1, which means we get a lot of personal attention. They use interactive methods like Harvard case studies that make learning really engaging. Plus, the placement record is impressive, with 100% placements in 2025/26. Is it worth doing a B.Tech Energy Engineering from IIT Delhi or not? What are its placement records and whats your experience with this college so far?

S
SkywardScribe Posted On : April 2nd, 2026

Honestly, I think pursuing a B.Tech in Energy Engineering at IIT Delhi is a solid choice. The professors are knowledgeable, but sometimes they don’t engage as much in teaching, which can be a letdown. The curriculum covers a lot, especially in the first year, but I wish there was more focus on practical applications. Placement-wise, the college is strong; students can start sitting for placements in their 4th year, and many big names visit the campus. Last year, the highest package was 1 Crore for Indian roles, which is impressive. Just be prepared for the fees—around 2 lakh per semester! But if you’re passionate about energy and tech, it’s definitely worth it.

How is B.Tech Electrical Engineering branch at IIT Delhi? What about its placement in 2025/26??

I’m currently in the B.Tech Electrical Engineering program at IIT Delhi, and I can say it’s a great choice if you’re passionate about electrical circuits and machines. The faculty here is incredibly knowledgeable, and they encourage us to think critically rather than just memorize. The course structure involves midterms, endsem exams, and various quizzes, so it’s manageable but requires effort to score well. For placements in 2025, the stats look promising; about 88% of students got placed this year. Companies like Google and Samsung are looking for interns, which is exciting!

What is the total cost for B.Tech Textile Technology in IIT Delhi??

L
LunarPeriodic Posted On : April 2nd, 2026

For every semester, there are:

  • Tuition Fees - Rs 1,00,000
  • Mess and other fees - Rs 35,000

So for 4 years: Rs 135,000 8 = Rs 10,80,000.

This is applicable for general category students and those with a family income above Rs 8 lakhs a year.

If you belong to the SC/ST category, the tuition fees are completely waived off! Additionally, students from economically weaker backgrounds can avail various privileges regarding fees.

With the right income level, you might end up paying close to nothing for the entire 4 years at IIT!

I hope this helps!
Thank you!

First, focus on getting selected in DMS. Then, weigh your options carefully.

Consider the following:

  • What if your score drops next year?
  • Are you prepared for the financial commitment?
  • Will the investment pay off in terms of career opportunities?

Think it through before making a decision!
