NB

The new campus of NIT-P is set beautifully on a plot of 280 acres. One of the beautiful things about the campus is that it is set on a seashore which makes the nearby atmosphere very calm and soothing. The new building has a separate science block which is huge and is connected to the nearby hostel and the canteen too.

The new building has labs and workshop rooms which are equipped with the latest tech and pieces of equipment. The new building also has no water problem as compared to the old one. For electricity and power, there have been no issues so far. There is a 24 hr drinking water facility available. Sometimes there are some long power cuts which are informed beforehand as the building is under construction.

How is campus life at NIT Calicut? What about the freedom, enjoyment, education and other rules and regulations there?

SB
Shiv Bakshi Posted On : August 24th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Calicut

One of my friends studied at NIT Calicut and as per him, NIT Calicut is actually great but only for boys.

The first year of college would be hard for everyone because the subjects would be different and tougher.

From the second year of college, the boys will not have any restrictions. They will have a lot of freedom. For girls, the hostel entry timing is 9 pm till night, it has recently been amended from 7 pm. Thus, it would not be so great for girls as they won’t have much freedom as compared to boys.

The academics are going to be hard and tough. There are a lot of rules and regulations, but the students don’t pay much attention. NIT Calicut is changing at a faster pace and it is all getting better. The campus has been expanding, the infrastructure is in progress.

Overall, it would be a great experience to study at NIT Calicut and it would be totally worth it.

Bachelor of Technology Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (2021)

The admission to the institute is based on JEE Advance cut-offs. So, it is a tough nut to crack. The following are things to be considered.

  • Faculty: IIT Ropar has an excellent faculty, especially in the CSE department. The faculty: student ratio is 1:8. The professors have vast experience in the industry.
  • Facilities: Recently, it has shifted to the new permanent campus in Rupnagar. There are four hostels in IIT Ropar. Three are for boys, and one is for girls. The total capacity is 380 students. The best part is that it is one hour drive from the city, Chandigarh. So, you can have weekend fun traveling to nearby cities like Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and more.
  • Placement: The highest package offered in 2021 is 18 LPA while the average package is 12 LPA
  • Safety: IIT Ropar is away from the chaos of the city. It is in a peaceful and serene place. There is no much pollution, and you can enjoy your evening walks.

Overall, you will have a great life at IIT Ropar.
