How is the overall percentage calculated in IGNOU BSc in zoology?

SS
Sophia Singh Posted On : November 2nd, 2022
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2020)

IGNOU BSc has 2 types of subjects - Theory and Practical. It’s further divided into - Assignments and Term end theory exams.

In order to calculate total marks in a paper out of 100 - Assignment marks* 0.3 + Theory marks*0.7. The calculated sum will be your overall marks out of 100.

To know the actual marks that will be on your marks sheet follow this rule:

For theory-

  • If it is a 4 credits course divide the marks by 2.

  • If it is a six-credit course, divide it by 4/3.

  • If it is a 2 credit course divide it by 4

  • This is because 8,6,4,2 credit courses have total marks out of 100, 75, 50 & 25 respectively.

For practical-

It has two parts - Lab 1 and Lab 2

Total marks out of 100 = Lab 1 mark*0.7 + Lab 2 marks*0.3. To calculate total marks follow the same rule mentioned above. Total credits in BSc-96

Therefore total marks will be 96/8=12 hundred.=1200

Net percentage will be = Total marks out of 1200 /Twelve hundred multiplied by 100 .

How are the PG results of KMC Manipal, Mangalore students?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : September 30th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

KMC students perform well in PG entrances. The PG result mainly depends upon individual hard work and MBBS training.

As a student of KMC Manipal, I can shed some light on my institute. The MBBS training offered by this college is really good. The faculty is top-notch, and classes are held regularly. You’ll be offered high clinical exposure.

Many of my seniors have cracked PG entrances right after internship or a year drop. They got into top colleges with the stream of their choice. KMC Manipal is especially a great choice if you plan to move abroad.

Some of the exam questions are based on the USMLE pattern. Also, the college holds seminars to guide students on USMLE preparation. This is why the majority USMLE selects are KMC Manipal alumni.

Thus, KMC is a good choice for your MBBS, and you’ll get ample facilities over here to ace your PG entrances.

What can be a decent CGPA in a university like RGPV?

SS
Surbhi Saraswat Posted On : October 31st, 2022
Student at Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal

Everything depends on your goal and your determination towards the same.

  • If you want to pursue an MBA in the future, you must have at least a 7.5 to be admitted to good private and new IIMs.

  • It doesn't matter if you're a GATE aspirant, but make sure you don't have any backlogs at the time of the interview. In this case, 7+ is a good score.

  • If you want to take the GRE, you must have a CGPA of at least 7.5 or you will have to compensate for your CGPA with your GRE score.

  • If you want to be an entrepreneur, you must continue to prioritize your skills over your CGPA. There is a lot of opportunity in this world for skilled individuals rather than just muggers.

Overall, anything above 7 is acceptable, and it would be ideal if you could complete all 8 semesters without a back injury. Working on your skills will help you achieve a good CGPA.

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Kannur University (2017)

One of my friends studied at Kannur University. According to him, yes, Kannur University takes a lot of time to publish revaluation results.

It is suggested to appear for the improvement exam rather than applying for the revaluation, as they delay the publication of the revaluation results even after the results of the improvement exam are out.

How much percentage of marks is needed to get a 9+ CGPA in KJ Somaiya College of Engineering (Since it has become autonomous)?

HK
Harshal Kulkarni Posted On : December 26th, 2022
M.B.A from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) (Expected 2024)

KJ Somaiya does not follow a relative grading system.

Before answering your question let's discuss how to calculate the grade of a particular subject. Every subject has its own credits which are preassigned (1,2,3 etc.). For example

    1. If you scored 90 in math 1, then you'll get a 10 grade point ( anything above 85 gives you 10 grade points).
    2. The next step is to multiply the grade point and credits (ie. 10*4=40).
    3. Next add up the results for all the subjects.
  • Calculation of CGPA= Added result of all subjects/maximum possible grade point*credit total.

So we can say that securing a 9+ pointer is fairly easy in the First Year at KJ Somaiya. All you need is an average of around 80-85% in semesters and you'll be above the 9-pointer mark.

The simple answer is Yes. The marks of all the complementary subjects are included in the final percentage. The scores obtained for each subject in each individual semester are included. Apart from this, the score obtained in each course (Core/Complementary/Open) is also mentioned below the Total Score.

This information is applicable only on the Final Marksheet. As for the Degree Certificate, only the final/overall Grade obtained (of all the courses combined together) will be mentioned.

How do I calculate the marks from CGPA in the Calicut University degree results?

AP
Aishwarya Pathak Posted On : October 29th, 2022
Research Scholar, M.Phil in English Literature, University of Calicut

You need to enter the credits and grades for each course you want to include in the calculation to calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA). Enter a credit of 1 for each entered grade for a simple average grade calculation, or leave the Weight or Credits fields empty.

You can optionally enter the course names. Select the Show Course Description fields check box and press the Calculate button to display the Description fields.

Then, you have to click the Add Row button to add more courses. Press the Calculate button to see the results, which include the total credits, total grade points, and calculated GPA.

To perform calculations, letter/alpha grades will be converted to numbers on a 6.0 scale. The basic rule for converting CGPA to percentage is CGPA x 10.
