What is the exact amount of money (donation) needed to get in CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology through the management quota?
The amount keeps changing every year. There is no fixed amount.
Nowadays, the college follows a system of seat-booking whereby you can book a seat if you are not quite sure about your admission to any college. You will have to pay a certain amount specified by the college and your seat will be booked in the stream that you want to opt for if you join the college.
The system is a little different and it is not exactly like the management quota in other colleges. The amount that you have to pay depends on which branch you want to opt for. The more demanding the branch, the more the amount of donation. For example, branches like Computer Science or Electronics are charged more than branches like Applied Instrumentation or Biotechnology.
I would recommend you book a seat and later decide whether you want to join or not. This will cost you less. But, you will have to decide within a short span of time otherwise the authority will move the list and give admission to a lower-ranked individual.
How is IIIT Kota for CSE?
The most important thing in engineering is your knowledge and skills. Doing well in academics does not ensure good placements. There have been many pieces of evidence where toppers could not fetch placement.
IIIT Kota is good in terms of placement. It is a national institute and gives you the tag of IIIT. But, when it comes to understanding between faculties and students, it has a way to go. This makes the environment not likable. A friend of mine attended the institute and didn’t quite like the environment there.
Apart from this IIIT Kota is quite good for CSE, you will get to experience many things there. There are many hackathons, coding events, sports events in which you can take part. There are many timely workshops organized by Technical Club, Google DSC, and Microsoft Student Partner. FlairFiesta is the annual cultural-techno fest of the institute.
So, overall IIIT Kota is a decent option for CSE.
Is leaving BITS, Goa CSE for IITB, CSE foolishness?
No, it’s definitely not foolishness, IIT B is among the top engineering colleges in the country. The IIT B is a cherished dream of many and for good reasons. The institute offers a great Computer Science program. The coding culture on campus is amazing. According to the recent placement highlights, IIT Bombay CSE average package stays in the range of INR 15-20 LPA.
I have completed high school and want to pursue a CSE Degree. Which one should I choose amongst Jadavpur University, IIIT-Delhi, and IIEST (formerly Bengal Science and Engineering College)?
JU is the best option among IIIT Delhi and IIEST for CSE. Although JU is way better than IIEST in CSE placements, it is slightly behind IIIT Delhi. IIIT-D has slightly better CSE placements. But JU offers an excellent ROI which makes it the most favourable option among these colleges. Moreover, its faculty is highly experienced and learned with many Ph.D. holders in just a single department. Here are some other reasons why you should consider joining JU

- With a well-structured curriculum, I experienced faculties and research options.
- The average course fee for four years of BTech at IIT Bhubaneswar is around INR 10 Lakhs.
- The placement for the CS department is excellent at IIT Bhubaneswar for 2023.

NIT Silchar is a leading and highly reputed institution, as it is the oldest one. NIT Silchar has better faculties, placement support, a resourceful atmosphere, and infrastructure, but the weather conditions are very bad. If you want to explore North India, then you can opt for NIT Patna; otherwise, you can go with the option of NIT Silchar for a better future.
Which is better for CSE: NIT Hamirpur or NSIT/DTU?
NSIT/DTU is far better than NIT Hamirpur for CSE.
Be it academics, placement, research culture, peer group, exposure, etc. NSIT/DTU will offer better opportunities. These two institutes also have a locational advantage. Due to the favorable location, you can easily get good exposure in the CSE domain. NSIT and DTU both will offer you plenty of opportunities. However, many students prefer NSIT for their small student intake.
How is CSE at MAKAUT?
No, CSE at MAKAUT is not considered anywhere near good given its obsolete curriculum and pedagogy. The subjects taught have no relevance in today’s age and do not match the industry's needs. The situation of practical labs is pathetic and the infrastructure of the institute is deteriorating day by day.
The marking system of the exams conducted here does nothing to evaluate your knowledge of intellect. It just judges your capability to fill the maximum number of pages you can.
Ultimately, it’s the students that make the college more than anything so your college experience here will depend on your batchmates. Nothing can stop you from achieving great heights if you are determined to work hard and succeed.
What is the average package of B.Tech computer science at BIT Mesra?
During the 2022 placements at BIT Mesra, the average package for B.E. CSE stood at INR 19.27 LPA. The median package stood at INR 16 LPA and the lowest package stood at INR 4 LPA. 113 students from the CSE branch were placed, out of 124 eligible students.
The figures were equally promising for the IT branch with the average package recorded at INR 20.58 LPA. Out of 59 eligible students from IT, 56 were placed. The top recruiters during the 2022 placements were Amdocs, BYJU’S, Cognizant, Daffodil Software, EY, Ericsson, Future First, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro, among others.
Thus, the average package for B.E. CSE and IT at BIT Mesra stood at 19-20 LPA during the placements last year. This is quite a promising figure.
Which one is better: CS at Guwhati College or the IIT, Hyderabad?
It’s illogical to compare two programs as the choice of branches depends on individual preferences. I will share the limited knowledge I possess for IIT Hyderabad CSE.
- IIT Hyderabad CSE department is very dynamic and rigorous.
- The CS department has excellent professors that are very learned and experienced.
- The student crowd comprised good quality students most of them being top rankers. There is tough competition between peers maintaining the dynamic academic environment.
- The average package for CSE in IIT Hyderabad is the highest of all the other branches, with many international offers too.
- As far as higher studies are concerned, if you plan to do an MS abroad, every year a lot of students get admitted to highly reputed foreign universities like Stanford, UIUC, Georgia tech, and ETH Zurich.
Since I have no information on IIT Guwahati, I recommend you contact a senior and discuss basic details.
