Which is better for CSE, NIT Jalandhar or NIT Delhi?

YM
Yash Mehra Posted On : April 15th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Delhi

Definitely, you should go for NIT Jalandhar. There are various reasons and differences due to which NIT Jalandhar is the better option for CSE.

  • The first and foremost reason is the establishment. NIT Jalandhar is a well-established institute whereas NITD is still juggling to fit in the stream.
  • With the better ranking and almost all the courses available NIT Jalandhar has a huge campus which will give you a better campus life. Whereas, NITD is a small campus with a few numbers of available courses.
  • When it comes to CSE, there has been a decent placement from the past few years. Few top companies that one could count on recruitment are Amazon, Sapient, IBM, Infosys, etc.
  • Although NITD, being in the central position gives you good internship choices to CSE students in the Delhi NCR region. So, if you want to opt for a particular CSE branch then you can take a chance but for any other stream, NITD is a big no.
  • NITJ has a good CSE alumni base who are working in top companies. Therefore, placement is never a big problem here.

The table below shows a brief insight on both NITs:

Particulars

NIT Jalandhar

Both the colleges have some pros and cons but NIT Jalandhar still provides you with the best.

Which is better, CSE or CSAI in IIIT Delhi?

RK
Rhea Kapoor Posted On : May 1st, 2026

IIIT Delhi has both CSE and CSAI (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence). here's what's actually different:

CSE: core computer science curriculum — algorithms, OS, databases, networks, systems. the broadest CS program. placements ~96-97%. admission purely via JEE Main/JAC Delhi rank.

CSAI (CS + AI):

  • focuses on AI, ML, deep learning, data science alongside core CS fundamentals
  • curriculum has more math (linear algebra, probability, optimization) and AI-specific courses
  • same JEE Main admission route
  • placements comparable to CSE (~95%+)
  • slightly newer program, hence somewhat less proven alumni network than CSE

which is better? honestly for most software career paths, both are equivalent. companies recruiting at IIIT Delhi don't strongly distinguish between CSE and CSAI at the interview stage. but:

  • if you want to go into AI/ML research or product roles specifically — CSAI is a better fit because the curriculum is more focused
  • if you want general software engineering flexibility — CSE keeps all doors open
  • CSAI's heavy math requirement means it's tougher if math isn't your strength

both are excellent. if you're genuinely into AI/ML, CSAI is a meaningful differentiator. if you're undecided about specialization, CSE is safer.

Which is better IIT Guwahati CSE or IIT Delhi EE or IIT KGP CSE 5yrs?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : May 5th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

In my opinion, an IIT KGP CSE dual degree is a better option than IIT Guwahati CSE. Here’s why

  • You get an additional degree in just one or two years
  • You don’t have to sit for another entrance exam like GATE
  • Companies that open profiles for BTech also open the same profiles for Dual Degree students.

IIT Guwahati is also a good option for CSE. However, one should opt for IIT Delhi EE only if

You are confident that one will be able to change branch within a year. This is because you will end up studying CS courses with external coaching.

To secure a job, the best options are CSE or MBA. For MBA, your branch does not really matter, only your institute does.

Among Reva University and New Horizon College of Engineering which is the best for CSE?

GC
Gargi Roy Chowdhury, Posted On : April 22nd, 2023
B.Tech from REVA University (2020)

If you're looking for a computer science engineering program, it's important to consider not only the quality of the syllabus but also the placement opportunities available after graduation. In this regard, there are some key differences between Reva University and NHCE that you should be aware of.

  • Syllabus: While Reva University has an excellent syllabus for CSE, NHCE's syllabus is not as updated but still better than many other colleges affiliated with VTU.
  • Eligibility: One major factor that affects placements is the number of eligible students taking part in them. Reva University has a larger pool of eligible candidates, which means that the competition for placements is more intense. NHCE, on the other hand, has a smaller number of eligible candidates, which means that there is less competition for placements.
  • Placements: As a result of the above factors, NHCE tends to have better placements than Reva University. However, if you're not that concerned about placements and prioritize having an updated syllabus, Reva may be a better choice for you.

Here are some key takeaways:

  • If you want an updated syllabus for CSE, Reva University is a great choice.
  • If you prioritize better placements, NHCE is a better option.
  • If you're not as concerned about placements and prioritize having an updated syllabus, Reva may still be a good choice for you.

Between an M.Sc chemistry in BITS Hyderabad and CSE in VIT, which is better?

BG
Bidita Ghose Posted On : December 22nd, 2023
Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Based on mine and my friends’ experiences, here are some points I would like for you to consider in this regard-

  1. The branch should always be your top priority. For a dual degree in CSE at BITS Hyderabad, you’ll need to score more than 7.6 CG. That would mean an average +30 in most subjects (relative grading). Phoenix Dual is a better option than VIT CSE.
  2. Dual degree will take away a lot from your campus life. You won’t be able to enjoy clubs and events to the fullest.
  3. BITS Hyderabad undoubtedly has a better crowd quality. Moreover, it carries the prestigious ‘BITS’ tag.
  4. BITS will give you a more quality campus experience with better academics.

The decision has to be made by you, but I hope that these points will guide you. Whatever you choose, make sure to maintain a good academic performance in college, so that you end up getting decent job offers.

Which one is better, NIT Trichy CSE or IIT Delhi EE?

S
Shruti Posted On : July 9th, 2024
student at IIT Delhi

NIT Trichy and IIT Delhi are two highly ranked engineering colleges in India.

Here is a comparison table between CSE branch of NIT Trichy and Electrical branch of IIT Delhi for your reference:

Parameters

NIT Trichy CSE

IIT Delhi EE

NIRF 2024 Ranking: Engineering

9

2

Placement % (2023)

90.6% (B.Tech)

84.94% (Overall)

Highest Package (2023)

INR  52.89 LPA

INR 2.5 CPA (Overall)

Average Package (2023)

INR 27.27 LPA

INR 17.60 LPA (Overall)

Top Recruiters (2023)

Google, Infosys,facebook, Oracle, ITC Limited

Microsoft, CISCO, Accenture, Brain & company, Jaguar Land Rover India Limited

The branch-wise placement details for IIT Delhi are unfortunately not available. However, as seen above, both the colleges offer really good placements in B.Tech programs.

But IIT Delhi Electrical is a better option because this institution carries a bigger brand name, and the ‘IIT’ tag. This will be immensely important for you when applying for higher studies after your graduation. Moreover, plenty of employees give preference to an ‘IIT’ tag over an ‘NIT’ tag.

IIT Delhi is located in the national capital, which is really beneficial in terms of exposure. Moreover, IIT Delhi will give you much more opportunities as compared to NIT Trichy. You can learn coding in your leisure time while studying electrical, in case you are interested in working in the IT sector.

Because of these reasons, I would recommend you choose EE at IIT Delhi over CSE at NIT Trichy.
