How hard is the IGNOU MA in psychology?
The level of difficulty of a program depends on your passion mostly. If you are passionate about learning then an MA in psychology from IGNOU is not that difficult. You can even work while pursuing a Masters.
Firstly attend all classes and complete all practicals. You will be guided by facilitators throughout. This will help you at the time of examinations. Also, the study material provided by IGNOU is very easy so I don’t think overall it will be a difficult ride.
How is Thapar University for CSE?
Thapar University offers BE in Computer Engineering (COE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE). According to some of my friends studying there, COE is a better course than CSE. So, I would be sharing some facts about COE, which might be helpful for you.
- The highest package a COE student has received until this point ranged at 39 LPA.
- The average package stood at around 10 to 11 LPA.
- However, you have to master the course and the technical domains that you are pursuing, without which you cannot secure good placement offers.
- In a nutshell, the average salary package in every department is around INR 6 LPA - INR 7 LPA. So for COE, it is better.
- You will sit in the placement drive alongside the 4th year students.
- If you can ace the interview session, even if the package is slightly lower than usual, then you will have the open option to secure a good position later in your career.

Having said that, the placement percentage at Thapar University usually ranges up to 100% for the COE department. That means, the placement offer is not a very big issue when considered separately. However, in terms of the package, the offer ranging from INR 14 LPA to INR 15 LPA is extremely difficult. Most essentially, you will have to master the technical domain.
What is the admission procedure at Presidency University, Calcutta?
The admission procedure followed at Presidency University for Post Graduation is through the entrance examination. As per the government of West Bengal, 60% of seats are reserved for internal students. The rest of the seats are open to all students.
Departments like Political Science, English, History, and Physics conduct separate admission examinations. But for the finalized ranking, the examination scores and the aggregate percentage of board exams are taken and combined together.
Hindi and Philosophy departments consider the marks of the board examination. But, a final combination of the subject and the aggregate score is generally accepted to declare admission.

What are the cons of studying in VSSUT, Burla?
Like every other college, VSSUT Burla has its own set of cons some of which have been mentioned below
- Despite having the best amenities among government colleges, it’s quite lacking as compared to a private college.
- Being located in the small town of Burla, students of VSSUT have no access to city life. However, it may not be a con necessarily for nature lovers considering the beautiful ambiance and forest-covered hills
- The pool club is in the backyard of the hostels.
- VASUT has a very outdated curriculum but so do most IITs.
- The administration is very slow and unresponsive.
- The library of the institute does not have a good ambiance conducive to studying.

Was language and food major (problems) obstacles for North Indians for an MBBS in JIPMER?
Honestly, the South Indian food served in Pondicherry cannot be tolerated by North Indians for long because they are not used to the spices and the tamarind. But the bright side is, that Pondicherry has some amazing places serving North Indian and continental food.
I don't think food is a major obstacle for a North Indian MBBS student at JIPMER. Here is what the food at Pondicherry looks like.

As a North Indian, my friend faced some major language issues, especially at the time of applying for ward leave. Her worst experience was the RHC posting during her internship. She had to interact with people in rural areas who spoke a more complex version of the language.
Overall, North Indians might miss their food and interact with their locals but not regret choosing JIPMER despite that!
What is the most amazing thing you experience while studying at IIT Bombay?
The most amazing thing one can experience at IIT Bombay is the amazing student activities conducted throughout the year to maintain the lively environment of the campus. Students invest a lot of time and effort in these activities to give amazing results. The best part of the year is early December when these activities are at their peak due to the break between 2 semesters.
- A typical day in the week of December begins at 5 am when sports enthusiasts make their way to the sports field to practice for the Inter IIT Sports Meet.
- At 7 am you will see a group of tired students heading back to their hostels after working the entire night. They are organizers of Mood Indigo or Techfest, IITB's cultural and technical festivals respectively.
- By 9 am, students have had their breakfast and head to their respective departments for research projects during holidays.
- By 11 am, a mixed crowd will be seen handing out in the lounges and the student activity center. Some belong to a robotics competition for Techfest or come to a dance or a music group practicing for Mood Indigo.
- Towards the evening events like public lectures by scientists, debate practices, or quizzes are held. By 9 pm, the sports students are returning while student activity students are going to begin their work.
- By 11 pm, the hostels are quiet with only those who are working for fests staying awake. Some students can be seen at the canteen around 3 am munching midnight snacks. You can also spot final-year students dressed in formal walking here and there for campus placements.
SASTRA University, Thanjavur: Does your CGPA really matter at the end of your course?
Yes, CGPA at SASTRA does matter, especially if you have low CGPA. It will affect your placement and as well as other things. But if you are proficient in programming then you can get into companies like Google without CGPA being a problem. If you have a low GPA, you will miss out on the following things.
- ACRS: If you want to finish your course in the 7th semester, you will need a GPA of 7.5+. To get the course you want you will need to have around an 8.5 GPA.
- Although most companies set 7.0 GPA requirements. Most dream companies ask for a GPA of 8+.
- You won’t be able to go to your graduation ceremony, since SASTRA only invites students with GPAs of 7.5+.
Apart from these above reasons, GPA matters for other reasons too. While hiring, companies look at your GPA, not to evaluate how much you know. Rather they want to how responsible and committed you are.
Which medical college is the best among the Madras Medical college, Stanley Medical College, Kilpauk Medical College, Thanjavur Medical College and Madurai Medical College?
Among these colleges, Madras Medical College is the best option. It is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. It offers huge case studies due to the patient load. The teaching faculties are great. The infrastructure of the institute is quite good. As the institute is located in the capital, it is more or less like a private medical college.
After MMC, the 2nd best option is Stanley Medical College followed by Madurai and Thanjavur. You will get to witness huge case studies at Thanjavur as it serves as a single medical college for three nearby districts.
Is Aryabhatta College good?
One of my friends studied at Aryabhatta College. According to him, it is really good. He pursued B.A. with Economics Honours.
- He was also a bit skeptical about the college, but gradually his doubts were cleared.
- The faculty members are highly experienced and very cooperative.
- The seniors were also extremely helpful.
- They have strict rules against ragging.
- The college has various active societies and clubs.
- They provide necessary facilities like libraries, canteens, etc.
- The college being in the South campus gives an added advantage to be at par with other evolving and emerging colleges.
It is recommended that you join the college without having any second thoughts. Aryabhatta College was earlier known as RLA (E) but in 2014 the evening college was transformed into a morning college and renamed as Aryabhatta College.
Is there any CGPA to percentage calculation formula for MAKAUT (formerly known as WBUT) at present?
MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal) has its own CGPA to percentage conversion formula:
Formula: Percentage = (CGPA ? 0.75) × 10
examples:
- CGPA 9.0 ? (9.0 ? 0.75) × 10 = 82.5%
- CGPA 8.5 ? (8.5 ? 0.75) × 10 = 77.5%
- CGPA 8.0 ? (8.0 ? 0.75) × 10 = 72.5%
- CGPA 7.5 ? (7.5 ? 0.75) × 10 = 67.5%
- CGPA 7.0 ? (7.0 ? 0.75) × 10 = 62.5%
this formula is officially recognized by MAKAUT/WBUT for job applications, higher education, and government forms. if a company or institution is asking for equivalent percentage, use this formula. always carry a copy of your marksheet showing the CGPA and cite MAKAUT's official conversion policy if asked.
