What would be my career prospects after completing a degree from DTU?

H
HashtagHermit Posted On : April 4th, 2026

After completing my degree from DTU, I feel like I have a decent shot at landing a good job. The placement scene is a bit mixed, though. From what I’ve seen, around 20-25% of my batch is getting placed, with companies like Byju's and Amazon visiting us. The highest package I heard of was 13 LPA, which is impressive but not very common. I’m planning to go for an MBA after this, so I’m not too worried about immediate placements. The internships are mostly with startups, offering roles in marketing and finance, which is good for gaining experience.

Where are the DTU campuses located?

S
SilentSkeptic Posted On : April 4th, 2026

DTU has its main campus situated in Delhi, and there’s also an East Campus where I’m studying. It's really vibrant here with about 2000 students. I picked DTU because it’s one of the better colleges in Delhi, and I wanted to dive deeper into Economics. The professors here are quite experienced, especially the guest faculty, many of whom are JNU PhD scholars. The campus life is also pretty exciting, especially with events like Engifest happening every year!

What is the worst thing about studying at DTU??

S
SerpentineMuse Posted On : April 4th, 2026

Almost everything.

  • Most professors aren't interested in teaching. Some don't even show up to class, and when they do, it's only once in a blue moon. There are a few exceptions who actually teach well.
  • The administration is a mess. They'll make you run from one department to another and won't take any responsibility—whether it's fee submission or semester registration.
  • Labs are poorly equipped. Some instruments in the physics lab don't even work.
  • The curriculum is frustrating. In the IT branch, you expect to learn something useful, but in the first year, you'll waste time on basic mechanical engineering, basic electrical engineering, ED, chemistry, and more! Only C is included in the syllabus (this point is invalid if you're willing to join societies like IOSD, IEEE, and a few others).

Despite all these cons, you can still learn a lot. The best part about DTU is the student quality. Most students are brilliant, and teaming up with them will definitely benefit you. Another positive aspect of DTU is its ability to attract a large number of companies, which is indeed commendable.

What is the cutoff of DTU for B.Des? I am a general category candidate from Delhi NCR?

C
CynicalComedian Posted On : April 4th, 2026

Hey! If you're looking at getting into DTU for B.Des, you need to focus on the UCEED exam. For general category students like us, a rank under 200 is pretty much what you should aim for. If you have the Delhi quota, then you could even get in with a rank under 1000. Just keep practicing and stay updated with the exam pattern!

How much time does it take for the end semester results to be declared after the end of exams in DTU for BE/B.Tech??

T
TheCaffeinatedCoyote Posted On : April 4th, 2026

From my experience in Chemical Engineering at DTU, results for end semester exams come out in about a month. I remember finishing my exams in December, and by the end of January, my results were declared. The wait can be a bit stressful, but it's nice to have such a good faculty backing the evaluation process. Plus, knowing that most of the professors are IITians gives you some confidence in the grading!

Should I go for B.Tech Electrical Engineering in DTU or B.Tech Electrical Engineering in PEC Chandigarh?

G
GregariousGlow Posted On : April 4th, 2026

From my research, DTU (Delhi Technological University) seems to have a stronger edge in terms of placements compared to PEC Chandigarh. DTU boasts impressive placement stats, with 96% of students getting placed last year and high packages reaching up to 1.83 crores, while PEC, while still respectable with 80% placements, may not match those top-tier offers just yet. Internships at DTU also appear more varied and accessible, with seniors discussing diverse opportunities, whereas PEC’s data on internships is a bit sparse. If you're aiming for high packages and a wide range of internship options, DTU might be the better choice. However, if you prefer a solid foundation and are considering further studies, PEC could still be a good fit for you.

How big is the DTU Campus?

H
HiddenHacker Posted On : April 4th, 2026

DTU’s campus is quite extensive, and you can easily spend a whole day just exploring it. With around 2000 students and 70 teachers at the East Campus, there’s always something happening. The infrastructure is solid, and the classrooms are equipped with modern facilities. I think the campus really comes alive during our tech fests, and it’s great to see so many students from different backgrounds come together.

How is B.Tech Mechanical Engineering branch at DTU? What about its placement in 2025/26??

O
OminousOctopus Posted On : April 4th, 2026

I’m currently in the B.Tech Mechanical Engineering program at DTU, and I can say it's one of the best choices I made. The faculty is impressive, with many professors having backgrounds from elite institutions like Stanford. Exams are conducted regularly, making sure we stay on track. Looking ahead to 2026, the placement scenario is really promising. Companies like Meta and Flipkart come here for hiring, and the highest domestic package is around 83 lakh per annum. With over 2,100 job offers last year, I feel confident about securing a good placement after I graduate.

How many marks should one get to have access to BA in DTU?

S
SereneSailor Posted On : April 4th, 2026

Honestly, I’d say you need to be aiming for around 85% in your Class 12 to have a strong chance of getting into the BA program at DTU. That’s what I did, and it helped me secure a seat. With so many students vying for limited spots, having good marks really makes a difference.

What is the total approx fees of DTU for B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering??

C
CelestialGlaze Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

The total fees for the B.Tech in Industrial & Production Engineering at DTU is approximately ?9,79,100. I chose this course because I have a strong interest in mechanics, and the faculty here is quite qualified, which makes the learning experience better. Just keep in mind that the fees can feel a bit high for a government college, but the placement opportunities are worth it.
