The department also offers different research areas for students including broadband computing, computational geometry, Computer Architecture, data mining, embedded system, Machine learning, etc.

CSE Department at SASTRA University: It offers B.Tech and M.tech courses with highly sophisticated facilities for training and Research and Development work in various areas of computer science. The facilities at the department of computing are constantly upgraded for meeting the academic and Research needs of the entire campus.

NIT Nagaland has a NIRF 2020 rank of 67 and NIT Agartala has a rank of 52 in the engineering category. NIT Nagaland is an autonomous institution recognized by AICTE and UGC whereas NIT Agartala is a government institute that is to be a deemed university.

To be eligible for admission, students are expected to have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 75% along with their JEE Main score.

• For NIT Agartala, for programs like B.Tech, the total fees are in the range of Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 6 lakhs.

• For NIT Agartala, the median CTC was Rs. 5.5 LPA and saw 188 students being placed overall. The highest offered CTC was from Works Applications.

• For NIT Nagaland, Allstate, Power Grid, Lakshaya, Vedanta, L&T, Toppers, Mphasis, were the top recruiters.

• The major recruiters for NIT Agartala were L&T Infotech, Vedanta, Future Group, Havells, Axis Bank, ABB Limited, Samsung.

For the year 2019, the placement details for the two institutes are as follows.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Hyderabad is a brainchild of Symbiosis International University (Deemed To Be). Symbiosis International University or SIU is situated in Pune, Maharashtra, and Xavier Labour Relations Institute or XLRI is a private university located at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. For the year 2020, XLRI was ranked 9th by NIRF in the Management category. It is considered to be one of the oldest B - schools in India. It also has a campus situated in Delhi- NCR. SIU was ranked 43rd among Indian universities by NIRF 2020 and 22nd in the Management category.

• SIU regularly organizes International Research conferences and Science congress and has a University Biodiversity cell.

Comparison between the 2 colleges should be done based on the above facts, your perception of the college branding, and the ROI which is on an average of 1.63:1 for SIU and 0.65:1 for XLRI.

All of the mentioned institutes are very reputed and considered among the top engineering colleges in India. The academics and course curriculum are the best with excellent placement opportunities. A lot of reputed companies are known to visit the campuses with decent salary packages. 

Students take programming very seriously and practice it a lot as it is one of the necessary skills required to become a computer engineer. The companies select students based on their coding skills and knowledge rather than looking for academic credentials. You will be selected based on your profiles on GitHub and Topcoder. Salary packages range from 5-50 LPA depending on your skills and experience. 

I have some friends who have become managers in computer engineering through personal learning and luck too. To rank these colleges, I would put NIT Calicut first, then NIT Surathkal and BITS Goa at last. The NITs are excellent and only the main campus of BITS Pilani is comparable to the NITs.
