What is the cost of a management quota seat in SSN College of Engineering, and do they take donations for CSE?

DA
Deepak Awasthi Posted On : April 30th, 2026

SSN College of Engineering (Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar, Chennai) management quota for CSE:

  • SSN does have a management quota for B.Tech programs including CSE — typically 30% of seats are through management quota
  • Approximate cost: management quota fees at SSN are significantly higher than the regular merit quota. total management quota fee is approximately Rs.7-12 lakhs for the full BTech program (including tuition and other charges). check the current fee structure with SSN directly as it updates annually
  • Donations: SSN, being a premier private college, may have additional payments beyond published fees for management quota — but official 'donations' are not openly advertised. families have reported additional informal expectations. verify with the admissions office directly

SSN is one of Tamil Nadu's best private engineering colleges — strong placements, respected faculty. if you can afford management quota, it's a worthwhile investment compared to lesser colleges. contact SSN admissions at ssn.edu.in for official current fee structure. TNEA also has a management quota counseling process for SSN and similar colleges.

How much chance to get admission in NITIE Mumbai after shortlisted for GD AND PI ?

KK
Kaya Kalaria Posted On : August 12th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Industrial Engineering Mumbai (2019)

One of my friends graduated from NITIE. According to him, being shortlisted from NITIE depends on several factors. Let me share the ones I got to know about.

  • The most important factor is the GD and PI rounds.
  • PI generally has a greater weightage than GD.
  • Another important factor is your previous qualifications. If you have a great academic score overall in your 10th, 12th, and Graduation, you will then stand out among others.
  • These scores must be equivalent to getting 94 and above out of 100.
  • If you have 2-3 years of work experience, you will also be preferred among other candidates without work experience.

Keep a check on the waitlists. After the first-round selection, a lot of students tend to leave NITIE for other options. At this moment you can get selected.

What are the criteria followed for selecting students at SSN College of Engineering, through management quota, after calling for a test/interview?

AS
Anubhav Sharma Posted On : June 24th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Calicut (2019)

You will be shortlisted based on your board score. The selection process is followed by a computer-based aptitude test and a personal interview session. My friend appeared for this exam and she had mentioned that the mathematics section was taken from JEE Main and there were certain questions based on logic.

The interviewers would ask for certain proofs of whatever you have accomplished. So, you would have to carry along your certificates as they ask about your participation in extracurriculars and look at the certificates as proof. These certificates can be of anything you have partaken in dancing, singing, drama or any other activity you like.

In the interview, they will consider things like your JEE marks, passions, and ambition in life. Plus, the obvious- why do you want to take admission in SSN College, and what all options do you consider as your backup options. This entire interview process checks what kind of a person you are in terms of talent. It will be an advantage if you can speak fluently in English.

Placements of the IT department are at par with the CSE department as it is the most sought-after branch after CSE. Many top companies give references to IT students. Additionally, the NIT Surathkal IT department is well-known for its course curriculum and excellent research opportunities. It's the only institute in the country that has granted 6 years long NBA Accreditation that too for all branches. Its USP however, is its exceptionally good campus life and private beach. It has a good brand value and is highly regarded in the industry.

2021

INR 17.28 LPA

12.25 LPA

B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology

You can put all your worries to rest regarding the hostel conditions at NSUT if you are a girl and be prepared for the best experience of your life.

The hostels have all kinds of rooms, single, double, and triple occupancy rooms. The triple occupancy rooms do not mean one room with three beds but three separate rooms for 3 girls that are interconnected. Every set of rooms has its own washroom.

Additionally, the girls' hostel is air-conditioned and isn’t overcrowded at all. Students of all branches stay together so you get a diverse experience.

The hostel and mess rules are more flexible for the girls' hostel than the boys' hostel. So come here to spend the best years of your life!

SR
Sayantan Ray Posted On : July 27th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ) (Graduated 2021)

Honestly, IIT Jodhpur has very few gem professors. My sister who studies there mentioned 2 of her favorite professors and why she considered them a gem

Shanmuganathan Raman: He deserves all the love and respect he gets from his students because of the kind of teacher he is.

  • His knowledge of his subject is excellent, sometimes leaving you speechless.
  • He has a great rapport with the students and you will be surprised to know that he remembers every student's name.
  • His South Indian accent is very charming and humorous.
  • His classes are intriguing and you won’t be bored even for a minute.
  • His explanations of the concepts are what makes most students his fan.

Kiran Kumar Hiremath: As a whole, he is somewhat like Raman sir only.

  • He has a very charming smile and he has a sweet nature.
  • He is proficient in his subject and delivers the concepts excellently.
  • He maintains a friendly bond with students often lightening the classroom tension with his jokes
  • He is a person filled with enthusiasm and gives off positive vibes during the lectures that motivate the students.
  • He adopts a decent grading system.

Additionally, she also mentioned Vivek Vijay sir who is a mentor to many students.

Is MIT Manipal a good college for hard workers, or is it just for rich spoiled brats?

SV
Shyam Verma Posted On : September 8th, 2023
Computer Science, and Engineering, MIT Manipal

No, it’s just a preconceived notion that MIT has only rich spoiled kids and no one is serious about academics here. Not everyone you find here is rich some are hardworking students who are studying hard to repay the loan they had to take for its high fees. MIT has several active student clubs and many students are involved in technical stuff day and night.

Manipal also has “Student Projects” wherein every student project comprises a small and talented team of students with similar interests and passion for building something big, be it Robots, Cars, Satellites, Rovers, or Drones.

Some of the major student projects are:

  1. Project Manas - Build a self-driving car.
  2. RoboManipal - Makes robots and competes with various robotics teams in India.
  3. Solar Mobil - Trying to make a fully solar-powered car.

There are many other students' projects too. The purpose of mentioning this is to highlight the kind of academic exposure and opportunities this institute has. The CS students actively participate in collecting and analyzing the data from their surroundings and work very hard to achieve their goals.

Manipal caters to almost everything, be it Developing mobile applications, building websites, writing, or even a start-up. It also provides facilities for participating in MOOCs or Online courses or Competitive coding. The well-stocked Central Library is home to many hardworking students.

Ultimately, MIT is not only for the rich kids but also caters to the hardworking ones. It’s you who will decide what you reap here!

What is it like to study Textile Technology at IIT Delhi?

SM
Subhashree Modak Posted On : April 3rd, 2023
B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (2020)

IIT Delhi Textile department is still in its infancy and unfortunately, is one of the least demanded branches. The scope and opportunities offered are meager. To put it rightly, it does not do justice to the brand name of IIT Delhi.

  • During the orientation itself, it’s revealed how almost the entire batch wants to get their branch changed eventually
  • The department is located far away from the main campus and other major departments and this segregation is quite demotivating
  • The course material is not up to the standards of IIT Delhi and the tremendous coursework just adds to the misery
  • The students mug up the concepts mostly rather than understanding them
  • The lab work is monotonous and the research opportunities are limited
  • The teachers are extremely retarded investing zero effort in increasing the quality of teaching or making it more lively
  • Most importantly, the placement scenario of this department is pathetic with no good company ready to recruit students for this branch

Many people think that this branch might somehow open opportunities for them if they involve themselves in extracurricular activities and so but then the entire purpose of the department is negated. Still, for the most desperate, this might be the only option. So, it’s advisable to go to this branch only if it’s the last option you have.

Am I making a mistake by preferring IISER Kolkata over IIT Kharagpur MSc Integrated Physics?

MR
Malabika Roychowdhury Posted On : December 21st, 2021
BS-MS Dual Degree Biology & Junior Research Fellow, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata

No, it is not a mistake to prefer IISER Kolkata over IIT KGP for an MSc integrated course in Physics. You are going to get a pure science degree so it makes more sense to get the degree from an institute that focuses on that degree. IIT KGP is popular for its engineering degrees. So, you will be mostly surrounded by people who are pursuing engineering degrees. You won’t get to meet many like-minded students. The course structure of integrated MSc at IITs is also outdated.

At IISER Kolkata, you will get a decent course structure and better faculties for an integrated MSc.
