The word “social life” barely exists in the dictionary of an MS/MTech student at IIT Madras. They spent their time holed up in labs. But some don’t want to miss out on campus life and leave no opportunity to have fun.
I have seen M.Tech students go to CFI, and participate in most events and talks like EMLs, TechSoc, LitSoc, Sports, Gym, Swimming, Art, volunteer, and some are even part of Shaastra, Saarang team.
These events are one kind of life experience and missing out on them means you are missing a major part of your college experience. Make sure you take breaks between the extensive research work and manage your time well in such a way that you can balance both extracurriculars and lab work. You will have a lot of time on your hand during vacations so make the most of it.
I have a friend who used to be a student of NIT Goa. Based on the conversation I had with him, I can give you some information regarding the facilities offered by the institute.
As it has been years since its establishment, students organize a lot of events which you will find entertaining.
Studying at IIM Indore makes you proficient in
IIM Indore has one of the biggest and most beautiful campuses of all IIMs. The campus is more like a city wherein we have our own shuttle buses, movie screenings, Olympic size swimming pool, food outlets, etc.
Almost every festival is celebrated here and there are special feasts for each festival, like the Durga Pooja feast, Ganesh Chaturthi feast, Eid feast, Onam feast, Pongal feast, etc. There are special Christmas, New year, Lohri, and Holi celebrations also.
One major highlight is the Rural Immersion Program in which you spend a week in the villages in groups of 3 to 4 to ascertain the progress of Swach Bharat Abhiyan. Another initiative on the part of students is the Himalayan Outbound Program where you get to spend a week in the mountains.
The farewell marks the final chapter of these beautiful 2 years. There are 2 farewells, one is organized by the cultural committee and the other one is organized by the institute administration.

Life at NIT Jalandhar is pretty good and better if you have some good friends. I have listed the pros and cons below:
Pros-
The faculty here is very cooperative and motivating.
The hostel and mess facilities are pretty good. The staff is cooperative and the Student committee helps you input your opinions.
There is An IT building in which you can use the lab for study purposes.
The hostel facilities improve since the second year. You get LAN and Wi-Fi connections.
Cons-
The first-year hostels are old and without LAN and Wi-Fi.
The teachers here are not very experienced.
Canteen is closed after 10:30 pm
You can make your journey a beautiful experience by making good friends here.
The campus environment of NIT Jalandhar is similar to that of other NITS; you will undoubtedly be disappointed if you have unrealistic expectations. However, you can certainly enjoy your quality time with friends to the fullest. College clubs and teams are far superior, but the college fest is not that glamorous yet it will not dishearten you.
If you have a talent and an interest, the college will almost certainly allow you the opportunity to pursue that interest. Finally, the tag of NIT matters is unquestionably provided here.
One of my friends studied at Kirori Mal College (KMC). According to him, they have a really diverse crowd. Students from all backgrounds study here. Students here are dedicated to their studies and also enthusiastic about participating in clubs and societies, so you will see how beautifully they balance both of these.
If you want to explore the college whether it is Politics, extracurricular activities, or studies, you should join any of the societies in KMC. The crowd overall is fine. There are very few chances of ragging and all the credits for this go to elections of the student union.
KMC is best for your overall development, participating in societies and politics it will help explore the leader in you.
College life needs to be different from school life in the sense that you shouldn’t restrict yourself to a timetable and be flexible to explore everything.
Look around yourself and involve yourself in everything. Explore your interests. Manage your time well so that you don’t miss on academics too.
Extracurricular activities are a must. It’s better to take part in sports or enter a club. With so much to do, you will surely have to manage your time well. But that doesn’t mean you require a timetable. Any leftover work can be completed during weekends You can even remain slightly behind for the weekdays but try to catch up on the weekends.
Attending classes regularly and practicing tutorials will save you a lot of time and effort during exams.
For exams, give preference to important topics first. Solve previous years' papers.
Lastly, take care of your health!
The campus at JNCASR is smaller when compared to other institutes, but it has a very welcoming ambience.
Students here are hardworking and determined to fulfill their goals. For this the college provides proper guidance and exposure required by them. So, it is recommended that you choose JNCASR if you are confident enough to match with their level.
