Both Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at PEC Chandigarh are great options. You should choose one of these courses based on your preference. The placement opportunities offered are similar, except Mechanical students are allowed for less number of coding job profiles. So, if you are interested in coding, choosing Electrical will be better. According to PEC Chandigarh placement highlights of recent years, the average CTC for these branches stays in the range of INR 5-12 LPA.
If you are mainly concerned with placements when it comes to CGC Landran for Mechanical, it is going to be tough. There are more than 800 students in a batch and crossing that hurdle to get placed is quite tough so my recommendation would not be for taking mechanical in this college.
As far as other branches are concerned, like CSE, IT and EC, you will definitely love studying there. You can get placed quite easily into decent companies and also get into international affairs like foreign exchange programs to countries like Belgium, China and UK.

When it comes to faculty with the mechanical department, it is quite good. However, the infrastructure is not that great at all. Being a mechanical engineering student, you will not get the exposure or knowledge you are looking for as compared to other colleges like SRM, VIT, or MIT Pune.
In my opinion, you should only join CGC Landran if you are looking for CSE and EC and not for mechanical engineering at all.
Well, it depends upon several factors. A few of them are as mentioned below.
There are other factors, or possible scenarios, such as,
The above scenarios can give you possible average outcomes, but there can be vague contradictions as well. You also need to consider which subject interests you.
According to various student reviews, the preference order for CSE and Mechanical is MNNIT > NITJ. You should always give preference to the branch rather than the institute. Hope this clarifies most of your doubts.
Choosing between NIT Patna in ECE and PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering can be a difficult decision. It depends on your interests, career goals, and personal preferences. Here are some factors to consider that can help you make an informed decision:
NIT Patna in ECE:
PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering:
Therefore, to choose between the two, you need to consider your interests, career goals, and your preferences. If you are interested in electronics, communication, and signal processing, and want to pursue a career in this field, NIT Patna in ECE may be the best choice for you. However, if you are interested in mechanical engineering, design, manufacturing, and robotics, and want to work in industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, or energy, PEC Chandigarh in Mechanical Engineering may be a better option for you.
One of my friends is an alumnus of PEC Chandigarh. According to him, the Mechanical branch has good placement statistics. Here are a few highlights of the branch that may be helpful.
Lastly, if you have options to go for better NITs such as Allahabad, Bhopal, Raipur, etc. go for it. Many reputed PSUs visit the campus placements of these NITs and offer Design profiles.
You should go for PEC Chandigarh Mechanical. The institute offers decent placements and career opportunities. The placement rate for Mechanical is around 90%. Companies visiting PEC Chandigarh placements recruit students in both core and non-core profiles. The salary packages offered are in the range of INR 3.6 LPA - 22 LPA.
Also, Production is a niche branch. The career opportunities available in the production field are limited compared to the Mechanical field.
A few cousins of mine have completed their B.Tech from VIT Vellore with different branches. With them being successfully placed, their experience says you must choose VIT among both of these. Here’s why:

In the end, it is best recommended to choose VIT Vellore for Mechanical engineering as it offers better exposure and opportunities. However, PEC is also a good college and its fee structure is quite nominal as compared to VIT. In case of budget constraints, go for PEC.
IIT Bhubaneswar is a new IIT and was established in the year 2008. On the other hand, IIT Dhanbad is an old IIT. Being an old IIT, the academic curriculum and academic flexibility are more functional at IIT Dhanbad than any other new IIT.
Many of my friends have passed out from IIT Dhanbad who were highly satisfied with their placement considering their JEE advance ranks. In the placement drive 2020, the highest package offered to the mechanical branch at IIT Dhanbad was INR 17 lakhs per annum.
Changing your branch is comparatively easier at IIT Dhanbad. So, even if you are compromising on your branch of choice, you can get it altered to your choice once you join in.
To conclude, I would suggest you go for IIT Dhanbad.
Having talked to people at NIT Raipur and HBTU Kanpur, I have gathered reasons why students should opt for NIT Raipur instead of HBTU Kanpur for B.Tech.
These are described below -
The table shows a brief overview of the institutions:
|
Particulars |
NIT Raipur |
HBTU Kanpur |
|
Median Salary |
Rs. 9.5 lakhs |
Rs. 7.18 lakhs |
|

Rs. 33 lakhs |
Rs. 60 lakhs |
|

JEE Mains |
|
Fees |
Rs. 5.52 lakhs |
Rs. 5.17 lakhs |
Overall, NIT Raipur is the potential choice for B.Tech rather than HBTU Kanpur. Even students of HBTU also prefer NIT Raipur over their college.
If you are considering the main SRM campus, you don’t need to hesitate. The campus is quite good. The faculties might not be great, but there are departments where they are found to be standard.
The hostels however are not quite up to the mark, so you can opt to search for a PG. The student crowd is quite impressive. You will be among talented peers. Also, SRM has a standard placement record.
Additionally, the other bonus point is that this institute is one of the most known private universities all through India. VIT, Manipal, BITS being the other three, while Thapar RVCE and so on follow straightaway.
A brief highlight of both institutes is briefed below.

If you want to go for Mechanical Engineering, then you must go to SRM Sonepat. It is due to the fact that UPES is good basically for Petroleum, Aerospace Engineering and a few of the CS Branches, while SRM Sonepat can be a good choice for mechanical engineering.
